Been looking around for a crown today, and ended up buying one from Sainsburys, I intended getting one from Lidl but wasn't too impressed with them so ended up trying elsewhere.

Anyway, Sainbury's crowns are actually pretty good value, I got on that was 3.39kg for £20.50

Other prices are

Sainsbury's Turkey Crown 1-1.59kg (Serves 3 to 6) £8.50

Sainsbury's Turkey Crown 1.6-2.19kg (Serves 6 to £13.50

Sainsbury's Turkey Crown 2.2-2.79kg (Serves 8 to 11) £16.50

Sainsbury's Turkey Crown 2.8-3.39kg (Serves 11 to 13) £20.50

Sainsbury's Turkey Crown 3.4-4kg (Serves 13 to 15) £24.50

Hope it helps someone

I bet she loves having her hole stuffed
I would get this rather than last year I had a bird inside another bird, the missus wasn’t impressed

fresh
Bigger breasts are cheaper per pound, I find.
I'd want a bird with legs ideally.

Stand? Probably sat in waiting to get stuck in.. Lol.
What was up with Lidl breasts, not big enough?
Thanks will have a look tomorrow heat
As I am not only fussy about the quality but also not at all keen on paying the X'mas premium prices for seasonal food so I thought I would give the Lidl's frozen crown a try - never bought one before but spotted a good price at £4.64/kg.(chaeper per kilo if you get a medium or small crown)

It was a nice proper crown did not come with half the carcase and wings hidden under it, like some fresh crowns (beware Aldi and Lidl do it with fresh crowns).

Had a trial roast about a month ago and it turned out surprisingly good. So good in fact I bought a couple of them already and will not be looking to pay for the fresh bird with a hope but no guarantee of a better taste.

Whether you get one fresh or frozen be aware that some of those lower prized contain so much bones and wings that after you discard them you would have paid probably more per kilo than you think.

Actually already seen the Lidl fresh crown that comes with wings (lidl.co.uk/en/…htm?articleId=9069)
