Just a simple USB charger, £1.00 is the cheapest you are going to get one really.
Was £3.99 now £1.00
There were lots of deals on similar products in two different stores I have been in recently so I think it may be national. I found this in the small store in Ashbourne.
Last week I also got a dual usb car adapter for £1.00 but that was reduced to clear

Just got one you beat me to it.

Well as it's usb it will be 5 volts-Doh!
It will be a minimum of 500 milliamps

Hey lurker, no need to be sarky, it was a perfectly acceptable question. Some devices don't work very well with 500ma chargers.

500ma are battery killers. Don't be a smart **** and post exact specs or keep your gob shut

Excellent product, they are made by Masterplug (in the moulding) and as said, rated at 1 amp.. I paid £3.99 and pleased with the product at that price..

why did he get suspended? I think his point was perfectly valid

Chill guys....

Box says output: 5 Volts DC, 1000mA max

as said above

Cold! Comet are selling these for £14.99 and you can get one for half price if you buy two...oh wait...

Good spot. Always handy to have one of these around when you aren't near a computer. Especially as it can kick out 1 amp - a lot of them don't and a lot of USB gadgets need that amount of grunt to charge properly.

damn, i bought a very simular one from amazon for £5, i'll vote this hot

And you don't know why they were suspended!

A valid point is one thing...... common courtesy another.

Anyway, Hot.

Thanks for the post

Bought one of these about a month ago now for the Wife's iPhone, didnt realise it was such a hot deal?

Anyone want to elaborate why 500mA are battery killers? I was wondering about the suitability of several USB chargers (and other older slighty different spec. chargers) I have at home with same fitting. Don't want to potentially damage the battery on my mobile.

would this be any good for me cm5 bloggie???

Thanks

Always look for at least 1000ma as many only do 500, which barely charges a lot of modern phones etc.

Was please with this (though could swear I paid a fiver) when I wandered in to get a Car USB charger from Maplins:
maplin.co.uk/uni…370
2.1A means I can have the screen on full brightness, be using GPS, 3g and wifi hotspot (friend using laptop pre-job interview) all at the same time and the phone still charges.

Voted cold
Mains AND car usb charger (500ma) with five or six tips and carry bag available for 99p from the 99p store.
Be careful, they also have a USB car kit (only) for the same price.

Please

As my nearest 99p store is 16 miles away that's hardly economical - should I vote every deal for them cold? Also - as they can't even spell the name of that town correctly in the store locator part of their site they aren't going to be getting my custom.

ridiculous deal they come with a phones anyway..

Hardly as many people like to have more than one as so many devices are charged via USB now

Will this be ok to use on a kindle

I'm waiting for the Monster Cable USB charger, I heard that comes with gold-plated OFC connectors that transmit the 1s and 0s much faster...

This is a local deal, so doesnt appyl to all! So cold

By the way I have one of these and it is a perfect power supply for raspberry pi, absolute bargain!

One more thing they have loads of them left at Sainsburys Whitley Bay. Lady said it was a national promotion.

If national then hoes comes not on the website?

Some of you people aren't being very nice to one another. If you can't be nice, you don't deserve nice cheap stuff.

Voted hot. Don't need one, don't live near a Sainsbury's, but can't say that it's not a good deal. Who's to say people might not want a spare. Or one for the Raspberry Pi. Oh yes, of course daalphamale is to say...*rolls eyes*

Can someone confirm if this is national?

I know you are saying that tongue-in-cheek, but there is actually some truth in what you say... not the monster bit.. but there can be a HUGE difference in a chargers ability to provide a constant voltage. Plenty of youtube videos around showing how bad some of these components actually are (and how the ratings that are written on them are actually sometimes WAY off the mark). And as for USB cables... not all usb cables are the same either as I found out the hard way recently with my raspberry pi. After wastin almost 24hrs trying to get the thing to work with various chargers, I eventually read that it is often a cable that is the problem. I switched out the cable for another cable and voila! everything was working. So it's not JUST about 1s and 0s... it's about impedence etc when it comes to charging. (the original cable was working for a variety of other uses)

Simple resistance, not impedance. It's because of the price of copper that the cores of some cheap cables are becoming so thin, so the resistance is appreciable. It's proportional to length - a 2m cable of the same type will have twice the resistance of a 1m cable. Thin cores are unlikely to affect the data function of the cable if used for data transfer.

I have a USB cable that allows data but not charging, which is odd as I'm sure I used to charge an old non-android phone off it! Think it came with a nokia I had.
