Yeah,

Yeah, I'm not sure they have any new ones since the 7700 and 7700k (which came out in December I think?). They've had some price cuts in the US too - they're probably just pushing the promotion on them as the Ryzen chips are out this week.

Yeah, intel are pretty aggressive with marketing so they'll be pushing their promo's all over the shop. Intel have actually told a lot of CPU reviewers to contact them before publishing reviews lol (with a view to warning/reminding them that they may end up on intel's naughty list if they say the wrong things, the decent review places will take no notice though I suspect).

Intel definitely are worried though.

How about linking a reputable one then?

The only source I've seen for this claim is Charlie from semi-accurate, a writer known to be highly biased in favour of AMD.

Intel have been fined for anti-competative prices in the past so this is plausible, but you'd certainly be rather foolish to believe it from that source.

Yeah that's where it came from, semi accurate. While its possible he made it up I doubt it because intel would have immediately rebutted it. They're trying their best to get good publicity at the moment so if someone from a well known site said this I doubt very much they'd just let it fly if it was made up. (by the way the source was just the first I clicked).

I have a sandybridge i7 at the minute and have been waiting for each new gen for intel to bring out a reasonabley priced 8 core cpu and they just haven't even bothered so there was no point in me upgrading (my i7 is clocked at 4.8ghz so there would be no real gains switching to Kaby, well not enough to justify a whole new setup). Ryzen may just be the ticket or at least make intel change their ways.
