Just ordered some, £20 in Debenhams. There is a 15yr gaurantee too, cheers

How accurate are these scales? My last Salter scale (model 9000) was rubbish and didnt seem to register any change when you held an extra weight in your arms.

TBH, unless the scales are calibrated, non are uber accurate. Main this in plan them on a hard surface like a tiled floor if you can and if you are weighting yourself regularly then try and use the same scales.

Good price but the Amazon reviews are a bit rubbish and put me off

I have some older salter scales and it was only recently that i noticed if you got on and off a few times the weight was never the same.
Saying that, ive never become obese or skinny so they must be ok. I reckon most scales are the same so ive got nothing to lose getting a newer set.

My cheapo digitals are half a stone out compared to my doctors and they give erratic readings on a solid floor, at best they only tell me if I am losing or gaining wight and a tape measure can do that job for pennies. Mechanical scales like the Salter 145 look good for budget scales at ~£25, my doctor uses mechanical and a friend of the family who is a consultant them too, I'm inclined to think they are more reliable.

I got a Wilkinson branded scale which looks very similar to this. It also exhibited the same behavior where the weight displayed changes each time you step on it by 3 or 4 pounds in some cases. Maybe digital scales are inherently inaccurate?

They are about the same, I can not lose any weight for a couple of weeks then suddenly drop 4lb overnight.

I have these. Always quite accurate. I have hyperthyroid and they manage to keep up lol... Find myself resetting them every so often

Not sure whether to buy these, i've been weighing it up.

I was merely commenting on the fact that you said that you have nothing to lose, even though your views are that most scales are the same...
