HOT.

Use the fat reading as a GUIDE, it used to show me as 9.9 % body fat when I was at 14-15% body fat.

The only problem I have with Salter scale is that it requires to step on it once for calibration and then step on it again which is annoying if you do it a few times a day.

Why can't it remember its calibration and put a reset button at the back instead?

Why would you want to step on it a few times a day?

Actually, send me your reply in a pm as I don't think it would be suitable for discussion on a public forum.

Simple reason.
Was going on holiday and you know the weight limit for a luggage is 20-23kg depending on your airline.
As it is too big for the scale it is better to step on it with a person holding it. Then deduct the body weight will give you the luggage weight to prevent paying extra at the airport.

Let say you have a family size of 4. You have to at least step on it 10 times to make sure everyone luggage is within the limit.

Reasonable enough for you @@?

PS: I also send out big boxes of parcel everyday as well and this is how I work out the weight.

I'm pretty sure people don't use this for 'business' *facepalm*

Camelcamelcamel shows this is the lowest price on this

The body fat indicators on these shouldn't be used at all. wildly inaccurate. The only way to take accurate readings of body fat is with calipers or a bod pod.

save your money.

I don't need new digital scales with body fat analysis, but I bought them anyway.

Thank you HUKD for tempting me to buy unnecessary gadgets on a daily basis.

Ordered one thanks

Ordered thank you !!:D Merry Christmas !!

Had a similar set of scales from Lloyds Pharmacy. Cost £7 then. Take the fat readings with an unhealthy big, big pinch of salt as they are little better than random number generator readings. Scales died after a few months most likely due to the cheap electronics within.

If these take those oversized watch batteries, you can get cheap spares from poundshops.

I'm interested to hear this (only if the reading I'm getting from mine is wildly inaccurate in the WRONG direction though..). Please tell us more - why are they inaccurate ? how do you know for sure?

Bought mine in Robert Dyas for about the same price not long ago.

I've used similar for the last 5 months and found them to be believable. You have to use them at the same tie every day (I get up, have a cuppa, then step on), make sure your feet at clean. They seemed to me to be very accurate in their behaviour over the 5 months as I started commuting on my bike and doing exercises in the evening. All the figures started going in the right direction, more at the start and flattening off over the last few weeks. This is entirely in line with what I would expect. Perhaps the people who don't trust them are not using them in this regulated way?

Anyway, me mate moved out and took them with him so this is timely! Thanks OP, heat added!

They work using changes in resistance to electric current, since you stand on it with your feet and the current takes the path of least resistance, it goes up one leg and down the other. Thus it's not a good indicator of total body fat. It's also very reliant upon your level of hydration being equal during all readings.

ahhh typical just spent £20 on a slim design Salter from Amazon

ordered, thanks

I've got these they can fluctuate by a few pounds if you step on then off and back on so not very accurate

Nice deal, I was pondering getting a wifi whoopdy doop set for £99 with guaranteed "buyers remorse" but this deal saved the day, can't be bad for a tenner and the old weightwatcher ones don't like me anymore anyway
