Please do not buy this. I had one and the blade started to rust into the smoothies. When looking into it online it’s very common. Got a nutri ninja now and it’s 10x better

I've got this. It's a replacement after the first ones blades siezed. New rule: never put the blade disc in the dishwasher. I just hand wash it & let it dry. No problems now. Excellent for the money. 1200w is a powerful motor. 2nd machine has been used for months now.

totally agree, had 2 and both went rusty - quite dangerous because you only notice when mixed something clear and the water turn brown! I use mine for milk shakes so lucky it didn't give me food poisoning.

Exact same thing happened to mine.
Me too. Its a shame because it's a good blender apart from this issue. You can't buy a replacement blade anywhere either.

Seems a bit odd to me too. Had mine for just over a year no rusting issues, but then the bit with the blade sits on, on the actual unit busted somehow! Shame really, coz it was a fantastic blender and great size too.
I've been through at least 3 blade bases also. They seize make a horrible noise after a while and the rust as stated.

Support just keeps giving me the option to buy replacements .... useless.
I had lot of faith in these but after 2 years with 2 of them, i get that they wont last more than a year.
Makes lot of noise after the year of usage and is nearly impossible to use.

But very good while it lasts.
Agree with all the issues that others had with the blade base. First one lasted 13 months, the blade rusted and expelled rust particles after using it. Robert Dyas sent a replacement, now after 15 months, same problem. RD asked me to contact the Co. - Ultimate. Products Global sourcing. As always they blame customers not following the care & maintenance instructions instead of taking responsibililty for poor quality product. After use, I only rinse the blades not the whole blade base in running water and place it upside down to drip dry. Yet the blade could rise which was an indication that it's poor quality stainless and its manufacturer's defect that the water could seep into the concealed part of the blade base..

Have researched all the reviews, those who continue using it have to replace blade base every year!!! I found that shocking as I had a Braun blender, made in Germany, which is still working after 40 years no sign of any rust!

After a few emails with UPGS attaching photos of the problems, they asked me to buy a replacement blade base instead of sending me a replacement.. I''ll be writing to the CEO , attaching all the photos and would be interesting to receive is response.

After much research, apparently the original Salter Co. which has a history of more than 250 years has sold the licence to UPGS to market the product as a Salter brand.! So don't expect the blender to be of the same quality as the original Salter products. Theiir online website is not the original Salter website. It's marketed via salter cookshop website.

Avoid buying products from UPGS if you want to invest in a reliable appliance which is value for money.
