About 30 years ago I used to love making Peanut butter toasties and watching Red Dwarf, ahh those were the days and no one could disturb me because mobile phones were as heavy as a kettle bell and cost £500 a call and mostly useless. Those were the days, no one was stabbing you, no county lines, no social media, less stupidity, people were more racist and touched you on the bottom more back then when you didn't fancy it. So it wasn't all rose tinted awesomness, but I'd take it over today I think I'm going to crack open a Hovis and some Peanut butter and savour the memories, that is until FaceBook Messenger pings and ruins everything. Must uninstall.

Apparently you can click and collect from Rymans, but I cannot find where to do it. Rymans store in Castleford advised me when I saw someone returning a Dyas purchase to them.
Sainsbury’s have them cheaper if you add the delivery of this item...
Thanks OP, snagged one for the new place I just bought.

I would add:

6. the machine stops working. The guarantee is gone. Your life is not the same without it so you run for a new one.
Repeat from step 3.
I just use a George Foreman grill these days. I used to find that the filling went down the sides or the bread (Warburtons) was too long - cleanup was more of a mess.

With a George Foreman, you keep it out all the time and just wipe down and clean out the catcher tray at the bottom.
Always had one of these at my nans cheese & pickle my fave

Unsure if you mean the Cookworks branded one - but if so, it's pretty useless.

Seems to take a very long time and doesnt cook edges well enough.

Apologies though if you meant another product
I completely forgot about these devices, you’ve given me a great idea for a romantic valentines meal, thank you
Has anyone invented one yet that does not take 4 years to clean...

Also you don't at all need to butter the outside with the George Foremam so you can go lo fat toastie eg with heck sausages bacon medallions etc etc and get a nice griddled finish.
These are like condoms, use them once then chuck them away.

If you are a regular user then have a look at following at Amazon. Cost wise twice but better brand and removable plates which goes straight into dishwasher.

You forgot burn the roof of your mouth because you couldn't wait until the cheesy filling cooled before eating it....i used to love doing beans in toast must get it out of the cupboard.

Clean them ....the burnt on bits from previous toasties add too the flavour.
Nothing quite like biting into a toasted cheese sandwiches which filling will be hotter than the centre of the sun.
Waste of time xl plates mean xl bread which you can’t buy anywhere the sandwiches don’t seal as the bread is too small so it leaks everywhere anyway!! Bought one and returned

Another vote for Georgie. We use it for toasties, burgers, sausages, roasted veg, fabulous salmon... So versatile.

feel grateful the grand people of London have decided to share their store with some of the people from outside of the country of London what a burden it must be to have London attached to some strange place called England
