Kudos to aroundapenny who commented on this hotukdeals.com/dea…e=9

Seems a good Deal as there's other listings for £12.79.

Can see reviews for it on Amazon too, at £7.99 amazon.co.uk/SAM…WNQ

Just curious to know if others have tried this brand of charger, and if it's safe - as we all know cheap chargers can be risky?

I did comment similarly, saying that although the chassis can look the same - the internals can be very different (as you find with bigclive's teardowns - he particularly likes ripping apart cheap chargers).

In saying that, on my desk I have a few of those 76p LiitoKala Lii-100 Battery Chargers, and they're actually very well reviewed on budgetlightforum budgetlightforum.com/nod…769 so not all cheap Chinese electronics are duff.

Thanks for being gracious about my "hijack", aroundapenny. I haven't purchased yet, was just wondering if anyone would provide feedback Just being overly cautious

So an unknown ebay seller with low seller feedback since 16 Sep, 2017 is now allowed on HUKD?

If this doesn't get pulled by mods we'll know how low the standards have dropped of late.

The seller has 200 Feedback, is that considered low? I definitely wouldn't add a zero feedback seller. Anyway, I stated my reasons for posting this and there is no intention to offend or mislead.

£1.99 declined.

In the past I've been advised sellers with low feedback, typically 1000 or less are considered unsuitable and have had deals removed. However recently any seller seems to get through, especially if there's some sort of financial inducement. And as it seems editors and mods are spewing out many of those deals.... well you can come to your own conclusion.

I'd be wary of this deal, yes it looks like the Anker product but very likely a clone that may or may not be anything like the same inside.

More stupid than that is fast charging or paying silly money for one, this bei g a certified product too!
This is hot for standby, that one occasion when you really need a quickcharge.

edit - did not realise it was ebay, seeing the amazon link.
Also, Amazon reviews very certainly look fake.

I only skim-read them, though looking more closely, most of the Amazon reviewers have single-figure total reviews and "awesome", "brilliant", "amazing" gets bandied about a fair bit. I would say I was pleased or satisfied with a product but most real reviewers don't really use hyperbole for such a small purchase, and they go more in-depth as well - I do, anyway.

I definitely linkyed to ebay when I posted this, tested the link not long after I pressed Submit

Really? Who gives this pap heat?

The first review also praises Amazon and only has 3 other reviews, all for this seller.
As an Unverified reviewer, it was not a good start!

I bought one a while back from this seller. Although i does quick charge it is not grounded properly meaning the screen acts erratically when charging (HTC phone). I keep it as backup to use if i do not want to use the phone whilst charging. But using the phone whilst charging was like a game of whack-a-mole.

Urgh, not good, I have used a MicroUSB charger that behaved in such a way (back when my niece had a Blackberry - her dad got her a cheap third party charger from who knows where), which made my Desire HD act weird, it ended up in the bin. Appreciate it.

I will Expire this as I don't want to recommend any electronic item which could potentially be unsafe. Peace out

Thanks again, Bobafett77.

I did. Inititially looked OK, most chargers being fine. I now suspect cheap low power ones are safer, fast charging needing more quality and protection. There is no Undo for a vote!

Sorry guys. I'll go in the doghouse for a while

Well, if anything, this might well be as hit and miss as the actual, established brand, Anker product. That gets a very mixed bag of reviews, so who knows?

I don't know every single one of HUKD's rules, like most members I'd assume, maybe take that up with the Mods. I wouldn't post anything purposely to mislead or to rip buyers off, I think you've got to be self-aware on Forums and yes, responsible...which means own up to mistakes if you make them.

I've had my fair share of Deals pulled over my 10 years and don't always get told why If there's an issue, usually 9 times out of 10 it gets pulled within 5 minutes.
