While these are a good deal for Samsonite there is no way on this earth that you would pay 180 quid on one piece!

are these any good, can they be kept like russian nesting dolls?

yes and yes

Excellent value for money. Hot.

Tempting but the small ones heavy for a carry on

BARGAIN.... Have some heat!!!

I'm sure it probably wouldn't be an issue but for most airlines the height of a carry on bag is 55 or 56cm.
Are there any airlines that are pedantic enough to refuse a bag that is 1 or 2cm too tall?

My normal carry on bag is only about 50cm so I've never had this problem before but I am sorely tempted by this set.

for carry on soft siders are a PITA - over pack it and it can be rejected

hard sided cases are perfect

Tripp Holiday range from Debenhams - highly recommended - my carry one and mid size have been all over the world and only have some minor battle scars ......

This is a great deal!

local shops in town sell large suitcase for £25 and markets.
I bought a really good quality cabin case £10.

Never understood why they sell carry on size bags in the Uk that are too big to take on any UK airline!

The max height of a carry on case for most UK airlines is 55cm or 56cm... the small case in this set is 57cm in height, so it's too large to take on ANY UK airline as carry on. You'd be taking a risk every time you used it that you might get charged a ridiculous amount at the airport to put it in the hold.

Not to mention the weight of 3.77kg - some airlines only allow 5kg for carry on (although most are 10kg) so this doesn't give you much left to play with for your belongings.

There's plenty of choice out there for carry on cases that are within the size restrictions of all UK airlines and weigh less than 2kg (many of the World's Lightest / IT luggage cases are only around 1.6 - 1.7kg).

I wouldn't go near these with a barge pole, especially not for this price

Not Samsonite they don't. I travel 5 days a week and take it from me that those cheap ones are a false economy unless you use them just once a year. This is a cracking deal!

I used to buy expensive brands like Delsey and Samsonite but these days their construction/quality isn't much better than the cheap and very light ones you find in Primark.

Some people have more money than sense!

These look very similar to Samsonite B-Lite which are excellent and very light. I checked the price on Amazon and its being sold for $250 (£165). This Costco deal looks like a bargain to me. Especially when you consider that everything is cheaper in the States especially American brands like Samsonite.

I bought some Samsonite hardside cases a few weeks ago and personally wouldn't buy softside ones for checked baggage as many times I've found my clothes to be wet inside on arrival. If you aren't bothered then this is a steal.

Indeed and Samsonite have excellent customer service. I've obtained replacement parts for many things free of charge without asking for proof of purchase. I've also had two old cases repaired free of charge and they were years out of warranty. I wouldn't say its false economy to some people. But likewise I can also understand the people that want to buy cheap and just throw it away and buy a new one if it breaks.

The cheap ones will fall apart, i bought some Ricardo branded suitcases from Costco 2 years ago and they are fantastic, i have taken them around the world, my parents even borrow them when they go abroad. You Get what you pay for.

When you travel a lot you want good quality luggage, feel the difference between a cheap luggage set and dearer good quality ones the next time you are in John Lewis.

Some people don't have enough sense, so don't spend enough money

£50 on a decent carry on case is a good use of money if you're going to use it dozens of times. A set of 3 high quality case for this price is a great deal if you need that many cases and are going to use them a decent amount.

Valid reason to renew my Costco m'ship...

these any good for concealing a high quantity of cocain. I found the cheap cases tend to split. but these would pay for them selves if I pull it off.

Its £175 for 3 pieces elsewhere - not one piece

Good luck with that. I heard Indonesia is nice this time of year.

These are very HEAVY Suit cases.

jet2 have no issues with the size of the carry on bag. perfect size

I travel very frequently with work and would never entertain spending this amount of money when you consider how the baggage handlers throw these things about! The wheels are a disaster waiting to happen, I would imagine they would last a couple of journeys at best before one or more get sheared/snapped off. Samsonite warranty will not cover this.
This is brand snobbery of the highest order.

Yes they will. Samsonite have replaced wheels that have been lost due to mishandling by baggage handlers on one of my cases. Didn't ask me any questions or for any receipt they repaired it free of charged and returned it to me 4 days later. It was 7 years out of the warranty btw.

Cool story bro...

Ever considered that luggage can be carried on many forms of transport? Trains, ferries and even Barges..

Also, first and business class passengers usually have a more generous luggage allowance.

Check your facts before posting jibberish. Samsonite DO cover wheels.

Great value! Spent over 3 figures on one before

Argh!!! I'd love to buy this but that carry on bag is soo stupidly heavy and the couple cm too big sizing is equally stupid. Why is it so heavy compared to the bigger ones? If anything they should go less reinforced on carry on bags because, errr, THEY ARE CARRY ON BAGS!

Yes of course they can be used for other things, but the target market is generally for flights and they are always marketed in this way (the product description for these actually lists the small case as a "Carry on" case and the two larger ones as "Checked" cases)

It also says "Dual 360 is designed to offer the perfect size and case for all your travel needs" and then further down says "*Note: Please check with your airline for baggage restriction and requirements". This would certainly also imply they are designed for use on flights.

Irrespective of this... why not make the case 1 or 2cm shorter in height so that they can actually be used on UK airlines, so that people will not buy them thinking they can use them as carry on on their flight... only to later find out they can't (unless they fly first class of course)

jet2 have no issues with the size of the carry on bag. perfect size

They do according to their website
jet2.com/tra…ge/

"Hand baggage must be no bigger than 56 x 45 x 25cm"

The size of the "carry on" case in this set is H 57 x L 38 x W 20cm, so is 1cm too tall

It is out of stock so the deal has expired?

Heavy, heavy heavy heavy. Given that I've sold Samsonite cases from £50 to £350 I can confirm that even the very expensive models come back quite regularly to be repaired for broken wheels and zips etc. If your case is abused, there's a high chance it will break, whatever brand it is. They are however good on their guarantee promises.

out of stock :[

Good brand / Good price - But Not for flights / package holidays - Wow the big case is 4.86KG! Too Heavy by far....
Not so good if you have a 15KG limit lol (most 79CM spinner cases are now between 3 & 3.5 KG)
