Didn't realise they were chinese thanks for the comment

I have campaigned on here for months , pleading with HUKD to put a "health warning " on these Chinese /HK seller posts , but of course they wont ! Preferring to trouser the hefty referral fees and not giving a hoot for its members interests .

Remember buying from these sellers means - No warranty , possible VAT and customs duties , no feasible way of returning and no guarantee its a genuine item .

These sellers until recently were barred from HUKD - nothing has changed except they now pay referral fees to give them implied approval . Shameful !!

The problems of buying from Chinese sellers is exactly the same as when they were barred . The only thing that has changed is that they now pay HUKD referral fees . So now its OK . Its not illegal ,but its something all members should be made aware of !

Many HUKD members are aware of the risks and are happy to take the gamble -fair enough , but many members (judge from the hot votes for some of these deals) are not aware of those risks .

I'm not asking for a ban on these sellers - just that every deal from a Chinese seller comes with the "health warning" I have espoused on numerous occasions .

Unlike many members (who just look at what's "Hot" - supposedly ) I read this site as an honest review on "deals" -sadly many members don't bother reading the comments .

I don't like the way HUKD has changed - it used to filter away and bar potentially dodgy sellers by various means - now if yer pays yer money your "deal" is allowed to remain (even posted by Mods and Editors and I'm sure they know its a Chinese seller )

OK its "Buyer beware" -fair enough - but HUKD (due to its posting policies) was for years regarded by its members as a trustworthy site and any posts on here had the implied approval of HUKD . Sadly it is now just a paid for referral site treating its members as "cash fodder" . There are many good deals to be found on here but also many pitfalls if you aren't exactly the sharpest knife in the box .

HUKD - would it really hurt you so much to point out which deals are from Chinese sellers ? and avoid potential misery for many of your members ?

Another memory card deal from a Chinese seller - Why on earth would you ?

I do - but the sheep vote most hot , simply on price , probably not even realising that the seller is Chinese

Does that not conflict with the hukd ownership?

Or maybe have a price limit for Chinese seller deals like £50.

Well I've bought a lot of stuff very cheaply from the likes of Gearbest etc and Have had no problems. It is more difficult to return things of course but I've never been charged duty or paid any fees. If you use anything other than standard airmail, then they use a courier and you always pay duty etc. Some Like Eglobal Central have (I understand) a place in France to which they import things so you don't pay any extra (as they say). They often get voted down just because they are a Chinese seller. However they are often the cheapest.
Fortunately (maybe) I've had no problems with anything I've bought

I'm sure many things are fine but memory cards, have you bought any of those? that seems one item that is faked so often it's not worth the risk.

No.
They are apparently often dodgy from China as are many Ebay sellers (apparently) Some (apparently Chinese) So I've only bought from real GB sellers.
I haven't bought any memory for a long time anyway because of the ridiculous price hike and I don't need any and I wouldn't consider this one because 4x99.9 is greater than 256! (my rule of thumb!) write speeds are good though!

@rogparki I like a lot of the cheap Chinese deals that get put on here and occasionally take a punt, but I read through the comments and then make my mind up. My first order from Gearbest never arrived saying that I have taken a punt on few items over Black Friday weekend but they are all under a tenner.

but there are lots of people like you say, look at HOT and they will be tempted. The current Samsung Note deal from Tobydeals is a great example of this. few days ago I never heard of tobydeal and suddenly there has been a few deals.

i think there should be a little country flag acting as a warning automatically placed next to the deal headline for any deals which are from a foreign supplier including Amazon deals from other countries.

I sort-of agree with the comments on here...there should be a way that casual browsers of HUKD are notified of Chinese Sellers' Deals and the pros and cons made clear, alongside.

I'm waiting on a Chinese phone that was a bargain, and have bought various pieces of tat and electronic-y things from Aliexpress, dx, Gearbest, Banggood...and there's been no big dramas, but I'm fully aware that if things go wrong, I could be in for a world of pain.

Also, of course, a Chinese seller selling a memory card? I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole....Gearbest are notorious for selling fake graphics cards and the like....

I've been guilty of posting some Gearbest deals myself from time to time but I agree, the deals for the chinese sites like Gearbest/Banggood/Tobydeals/Lightinthebox really should be in their own section...or at least have some kind of banner, maybe a Chinese flag symbol?

I think it's the sheer quantity of posts that promote crap with the super discount codes that are probably being sent from the retailer to HUKD direct, mostly useless items that is so annoying, just creates a demand for pointless crap that'll end up in the landfill in most cases.

When it arrived (if it arrives?) it’ll be a Sumsang card.

Buying memory cards from these dodgy Chinese sellers is just stupid.
