I've got the 64Gb version and it does about 120MB/s sequential read and 80MB/s sequential write. Does get a bit hot though.
got mine in my TV right now. does the job
When I installed this as a swap drive for my raspberry pi I was upset to see the NAND controller is not made by samsung but Silicon Motion which showed as the vendor. I was hoping for a samsung through and through with this drive. My semiment is expressed in this review: https://www.amazon.com/review/R2F0KP0OK7IBLI

It performs fine and is a nice strong design but just beware it is not a true Samsung flash product like their SSDs.

Most don't*, some can.

And copying data into it from your PC would be faster silly.

A £6 USB flash drive from China from experience would be a bag of pants compared.
Great for putting all your emulator roms on and plugging into a raspberry pi running retropie.
Great for putting 5 on the ends of your fingers and pretending you're Freddy Krueger.
I have a question for any car heads - My car only takes FAT32 memory sticks to play music.

1. Which tools do people recommend for making the whole drive FAT32 (Windows can only do up to 32GB)
2. Is it likely that my car will be able to recognise it? At the moment I only have a FAT32 16GB stick in there and that works fine. I've got a BMW 116d Sport (F20). Thanks!

Thanks man, appreciate the info! If anyone else can confirm (don't want to waste £23.74!) that would be great!

show me some that can. 128GB is the sort of size you would use for permanent storage, i.e. copy over once

When you say "a bit hot", are you implying it gets slightly hot or very hot? And is this when idle or when in use (eg. reading/writing at high speed)?

It has Samsung NAND in it. The controller is by Silicon Motion because Samsung don't make them. It's just a tiny IC that has such low profitability that there is little point them making it. The same can be seen on their mSATA drives and the ASMedia controller to USB.

Samsung also don't make the casing. Your review doesn't make much sense.

It isn't too hot to handle but it is noticeably hot, like the back of a phone under heavy load. It gets hot just sat at idle in a usb 3 port. Doesnt change noticeably under load. Doesn't get at all hot in a usb 2 port though which is a bit odd.

Do not believe this joker. There are many many 128Gb flash drives advertised on flea bay for a quarter of the price the should be but they are fake. Basically they alter the File table in thedrive to report 128Gb capacity but only actually hold 4Gb or 8Gb. So you have a drive that reports 128GB of files yet 120GB of that data does not exist. Do not be fooled by this idiot!!
