Other capacities available eg. 8GB version £2.75 delivered. (See posts #1 and #7). I realise Mobymemory went into liquidation in February, but they are now owned by Newbay Trading. Got my MicroSD card today.

You can choose jewel case or retail pack for an extra £1. I find the retail packs quite frustrating to open and I have a few SD adaptors (don't think this comes with an SD adaptor in the retail pack anyway), so I went for the jewel case.

One odd thing about Mobymemory is that they display your invoice after the payment's went through on the website (make a point of saving the page details); they don't email it to you. But instead send a "payment processed" email. Apparently this is par for the course with them, unusual though.

Delivery took two days.

Edit: Actually, I'm wrong, turns out the Order Confirmation/Shipping emails were in my Junk folder!! Woops. Really sorry I may have given the wrong impression about the company.

Anybody else had experience with this company?

Anybody else had experience with this company?

Here's another thread, about a month ago. hotukdeals.com/dea…313

I think the confusion lies in the bankruptcy at the beginning of the year (shame that people will see the "most liked" comment, as it's not entirely accurate, but they are still in trading, owned by a different company now).

Just tested my card with h2testw and all is well

I've used them a few times over the years, though all pre-liquidation / not under their new owners.

In the past the service has been great, and prices very competitive

Here's another thread about mobymemory, this time for a Samsung Class 10 16GB MicroSD, £6.95: hotukdeals.com/dea…409

Bought a Lexar yesterday, wish I had seen this first

I heard that all modern smartphones will take a class 10 card but this will be no faster than a class 6 card as that's as fast as a smartphone will read / write? . Never had that confirmed. I run a class 4 16gig card in my s3 with no problems. Heat added

Cheers OP, just bought one for my tablet.

My first MicroSD card was for a Desire HD, and it was Class 2 or something (one of the cheaper 32GB options at the time from Lowpricememory, an Integral. Worked perfectly fine, (the Desire HD's motherboard melted twice though, overheating was a well-known issue with Desires, not related to the card :)). Currently being used by my sister in her Sony Xperia T, and still going strong.

I've bought this Samsung 16GB card for my niece, who is using an Acer Iconia B1 tablet and has barely any memory left, but I wouldn't balk at putting this in my smartphone.

Also, I've read people have had issues with Sandisk cards ?? (I certainly have, in my Note 2), but it might be the File System used/capacity? I've a Sandisk Ultra 64GB SDXC (Class 10) in mine and it's been a pita lately.

That one is on mobymemory too for £5.25, 7p more. I've kinda went off Kingston after the V300 SSD debacle, though I know that's dumb logic and they're not the same beasts. mobymemory.co.uk/mic…tml

I'll be buying the 32Gb one thanks, had a 32Gb Sandisk Extreme in my Galaxy S5 and it wiped. No end of recovery methods later and still nothing, it now just gets really hot.
Wont be using Sandisk again.

I keep getting random reboots and "SD card blank" at times. Drives me mad, but I know this isn't really appropriate to this thread! I'm beginning to think I need a new memory card too.

Blank SD inserted is what i got a few times until it completely wiped, make sure you have important stuff backed up just incase

ordered thanx i will test it with h2testw once it arrives as there are far too many fakes around now

Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 8.23 MByte/s
Reading speed: 15.7 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

slower as it was running on a usb card reader in a hub

Bought 8GB version for £2.75 to let me 'play' with my Nook HD from Sainsbury's.

Ordered 11.00 pm on 23/07/14.
Waiting for me this evening when I arrived home.

H2testw shows everything to be fine.

I had a bit of a nightmare setting up the MicroSD card on my niece's Acer Iconia B1-710 tablet (no fault of the card). The Android version is 4.1.3. The card reads fine, just moving apps to the SD doesn't work. The internal memory (8GB) was eternally showing "Storage Low" messages, so I thought this MicroSD card would be a good solution.

Contrary to online advice, the apps All-In-One Toolbox and Apps2SD aren't suitable for that version of Android. In frustration, I copy/pasted all the internal memory's data to the SD card folder, via Astro File Manager, and it seems to have worked.

Wish I'd done some reading beforehand....

Thats a very interesting bit of potential Technical Info., thanx lol. :-)

As far as you stating that a Class 10 in a smartphone will run no faster then a Class 6 then also stating that your Smartphone is only running a Class 4 & your having "No problems so far?" .. is this not an obvious non-brainer to you as to why your Class 4 will/would work flawlessly in your Smartphone then also?, or ..... lol. :-)
