It's not £42 delivered. You need to put the delivered price

Delivered price = £45.59, please update price
(Ebuyer were selling these for £42.99 recently incl. p&p)

Unless you live in Scotland above Glasgow/Edinburgh in which case Ebuyer's delivery prices are ridiculous.

Good deal for everyone else though.

Be very wary of buying a Seagate 1Tb or 1.5Tb.

The hard disks suffer from a loud "clicking" problem which often means the hard disk is going to fail.

I had one of these (1TB) and it started clicking so before it could crash I have taken it out the case and plan to put it in my PC to try to get the data off it.

A search on "Seagate Clicking" or similar will find plenty of hits.

Here is one as an example

But this is for a Samsung, not a Seagate

eh?

Relevent because?

If this was a seagate drive then I would agree with the warning, seagate 3.5" drives are pants, but this is samsung so pointless comment

These have been around £ 41 on today only at scan a few times recently with free delivery through av forums. So not that hot for me. Good drives though.

Looks very good!! Put F3 in the title - that should get more people clicking on this thread as they're probably thinking it's F2

Cheaper elswhere Dudes, not a good deal.

are you looking at same reviews i am, amazon. good drives as i said previously, however not a great price and this should not be getting hot votes. was £43 at ebuyer and £41 at scan last week.

Samsung F3 the non Green version is amazing, i can vouch for this drive, reliable and one of the fastest hard drives available, the only other option close to it is the Western Digital Caviar Black.

Check the bloody reviews for it on Ebuyer, you lot don't know a good thing when you see it!

I've built a LOT of systems with these drives over the last year, and none of them have had a single problem. Not only are they extremely reliable, they're also the best performing mechanical HDD's.

And as Zurich said, exactly what reviews are you looking at? Almost all reviews ANYWHERE for these drives is great.
There's one person on Amazon who wrote a 1 star review, and I have a strange feeling he was dealing with F1's, which DID have problems. As the chance of him having large amount of F3's faulty in a short time period is highly unlikely.

bought 2 with free delivery at £42 each, thanks

Picked one up the other week from ebuyer for £42 inc p&p.

First i got to say that this drive(F3) is very fast. I am getting reading speeds of around 125mb per sec which is twice as quick as my old drives.
I am going to get another to put the win 7 OS on, its that quick!!

no

HDD deals get posted every week. This one is nothing special and is merely the going rate for 1tb drives. imo its cold because there are normally cheaper deals anyway. Next one to post one below £40 has a hot deal.

Yes looks like they going to break the £40 very soon.

These are £40 - £45 all day long and have been for months. You can easily get a 1 tb drive in an external enclosure for similar money as well...

Probably a stupid question, but can I plug this directly into a media player and watch the files stored on it through my tv? Cheers

nope this is an internal drive. You could in theory link it to a mediaplayer that has a lan port i.e is capable of being connected to a computer, but they are the more expensive media players.

What you need is an external drive in a asing of its own, which you connect via the usb port of the media player.

There are two types of drive:

1. 2.5" HDD will power from the usb port of the media player, they are smaller, more portable, but more expensive. Think 500gb for £40-50.
2. 3.5" drive which this is are bigger and need another plug in the wall adapter to provide power. They do offer more storage per £ though, lets say 1tb for £45.

Look at he computer section and you will see the latest offers.

999tigger - Thanks very much for your response, I will go for a 2.5" HDD.

Was going to order this hard drive made my order over £50 for free delivery and ebuyer tell me that for delivery to North East Scotland charge is £5.99. So no free or super saver delivery to parts of Scotland.

Strange? having read those comments I checked again (my initial post was at work) and cannot find the Amazon page I was looking at earlier today? by the looks of it I may have been looking at the wrong product afterall. But yet I am so certain it was the right one?

I can't even go back and check my internet at work either as I always clear my browser history.

Apologies.

Ebuyer sell non-uk versions so no 3 year warranty with Samsung.

i bought this exact hard drive on the 11th for this price (not including delivery cause i bought other stuff and then got free delivery )

Apologies for the noob question but would this fit into a lap top? I have a Dell 17" inspiron model with about 1.5gb of space left!

TIA.

Actually, yes it will but you need the Xecuter external drive attachment which is usually around the £10 mark.
