Basically is the fastest consumer SSD on sale. See reviews here:

Not to be confused with the slower 512GB model, this 1TB drive is blisteringly fast and outperforms both EVO960 and 960 Pro on most benchmarks.

Great value at normal retail price but even better with almost 10 percent off right now. Went out of stock when I ordered mine, which arrived today, but more expected in soon.

I already have a 1TB EVO 960, which I paid nearly £600 for (!), so will be good to compare this Polaris V2 model side by side in my own rig.

Free delivery for AV Forums members too.

Quite expect an EVO 980 to drop anytime now, it's been anticipated for a while.

Quite expect it to be better than this drive on pretty much all benchmarks.

Quite expect it to be over £500.

Isn't it basically going to be the same hardware as this but with a different warranty and firmware? So I doubt it will be much different.

Sure, same kit, different tuning, different price. Like the 961 vs. EVO 960 before it.
Who needs these speeds?
Great drive if you like benchmarks, beyond that you might as well go for a more affordable drive.
Too much for ram style untraditional SSD, not many devices accept this.

Nobody needs colour TV, works well though.

Affordability is subjective.

A better analogy would be who needs 4K on a 37 inch screen.

I did answer the question, you clearly didn't understand it.

Few people "need" these speeds, like they don't need colour TVs or fast cars. They want them though as there can be a benefit from going quicker. It saves me time every day, whether it's encoding video or loading games.

Flawed logic mate. You can justify spending silly money on whatever you want, (It's your money) but please don't have a go and make ridiculous analogy that doesn't actually work. You did NOT answer the question at all lol.

They do say fools and their money are soon parted and sorry but you are proof of this.

You don't understand the difference between "want" and "need". Please study English language and come back.

I'm going to stop feeding the troll now.
Surely the question is whether spending 75% more will give you a noticeable speed increase.
For some, absolutely, but judging from reviews for the majority the gains are minimal most of the time.
So poor value for the majority but a great deal for the minority.
That still makes it a great deal in my eyes even though I have no interest in this as I'd rather buy a 2TB SATA SSD which you can get for a similar price if you shop around.
Voted hot even though the OP is a bit needy.
