Just to clarify, you don't have to be a Samsung employee. Most employers have some sort of benefit scheme giving discounts in various stores, gyms, etc. It's through that. If you have a scheme like that log in, search for Samsung and if it's there you're in

You get a staff discount of 20% ? Not bad.

Hoping the government will do the employers 80 / 20 split seems were in lockdown !.i could warrant the sub £360 price then.
Only 12 month warranty right? Good price nevertheless.
Want LG c9 in that price
I also would prefer LG c9 at same price over this... missed an offer yesterday. Would wait.
It’s great for movies but in game mode blacks become washed out a bit and quality changes.

Can you tell me where? I'd like one too
Got one of these via employee discount scheme from Currys but this is lot cheaper. It’s an outstanding TV, picture quality is stunning. If you are think of getting of these, just do it.

Are the LG OLED's better than the Samsung QLED?

The Q80 and up get close in terms of pq, however in certain scenarios they may even outperform oled

Are the LG OLED's better than the Samsung QLED?

Mostly yes, samsung are brighter tvs with advanced Lcds technology called qled. LG is truly LED panels with more details on the picture and I would see it as bit superior
Thank you I appreciate the advice, so wait for a deal on the LG B9 or C9 then

C9 or E9 :@)
E9 and C9 are both exactly same picture panels with same resolutions/processors. Only difference is speaker. E9 has a better speaker. If u are looking for in television speaker E9 else C9 is as good enough as E9

My employer recently got rid of perk box sadly. Anyone no any way to get access to one of these services. IE similar to student ID hacks with online courses

I own both LG C8 OLED AND Q80R QLED, c8 has better blacks and the picture quality is slightly better, q80r has better hdr, better brightness, and is better for gaming low input lag, and 120hz 1080p/1440p for pc gamers (LG C9 HAS THIS ALSO), all in all they are very similar each having advantages and disadvantages, either one you buy you won't regret
same price through unidays

OLED is far superior however most people don't have a clue like yourself about picture quality will wonder how they are better.

Black levels, blooming, soap opera effect, screen uniformity, clouding, dirty screen effect.

Basically if you don't know what to look for then ignorance is bliss.

Rtings is the only website you need look at for TV reviews.

No they don't. Show me a review from rtings, avforums or Hdtvtest that says they are better in any area bar brightness.

Let’s not get into a fanboy argument over this. If you are a REALLY into your films, OLED is the way to go. If not, either will be fine. The Q80+ are great sets, I’ve just got the Q85 after agonising over the B9, C9 and Q70. I don’t regret it, it’s a fantastic picture, the blacks are VERY black, it’s bright, the colours pop but don’t look artificial and the blooming isn’t visible so far to me.

They get brighter as you say and the 85 and 90 are both less reflectice, they don't suffer the possibility of burn in amongst other things. I have a 65 B9 so I'm certainly not an lcd fan boy, I'm just fortunate enough see more of all the latest sets on a daily basis, so am able to have a better informed opinion

Has anybody brought this or found the extended warranty option? I know they used to offer 5 years free, but now can’t even find the option to pay for it

I purchased this earlier today and couldn’t find anything to do with warranty on this either. I’m pretty sure it has to be more than 12 months especially since Samsung mobiles are 24 months and TVs are a lot more valuable

I saw this review. Where a guy rubbished Samsung for having starlit sky. Apparently all the stars kinda disappear. Did you notice something like that, asking as you have both. Thanks
12 months warranty on a £1500 telly is just plain stupid. I would rather pay £200 more and get one with a 5 year warranty.
