PC World's online ordering system will show no stock if the store is reporting less than 10 of an item on it's inventory, this is to try to avoid overselling. (You place an online order while the last ones are being carried to the checkout by someone in store). It could still happen, if for example, there are 6 people with that item in their hands in store, and 5 more decide to order for collection, but it avoids most situations like this...

When I was buying Guitar Hero II, my local store had 2, but online said they had none... I went to the store asking for the online price. They adjusted their online stock level to 11, placed my order, then returned the stock level to 1 once that was done.

So, to cut a long short story sideways... You'd be best checking your local store for stock.

Definitely only HD Ready, not Full HD. It is 1680 x 1050
It's showing as £199.99 here: tinyurl.com/697tq8

Yes there is. This TV has standard Analogue TV, and Freeview digital TV.

The sound is as good as you would expect from a 22inch TV. I have mine hooked up to an external sound system.

wont work with anything under 1680x1050!!! it just says not optimum res etc so a big nono for sky etc!!! got one sat here going to be sent back

It's actually 4 or more in stock = can reserve, 3 or less = cannot reserve.

EDIT

who linked a t220 ??

this isnt a t220 this is a pebbe so a syncmaster 2233bw I think*** but defoa sync master and not a t220

not the same monitor!!! stop comparing saying you can do price match the pc world is a t220 the argos is a syncmaster / pebble (well the picture is )

the model number on the argos site reads t220hd
same as the pc world.

Surely they will price match on the model number, not the picture

Have been trying to get this item 096 1228 from Argos for about six months now and no store in the country had them so couldn't get PC World or any other store to price match as Argos not showing stock anywhere :x

Even last week was advised that they will be restocking but no indication of when ;-)

Very good price for a 22" TV/LCD... especially a samsung branded tv. However, be wary of samsung sound quality.

remember for price match argos near to pc world must have one in stock

also the hd220 aint got a tv tuner

The sound on my samsung 940mw's is very good for small TV, the sound on my 932mw is also very good not as good as 940 but still better than most.

Be wary of what exactly. (try some cotton buds)

Also anyone who has one and cannot get anything less than the res posted above and a message about being out of sync, your monitor is broken or you have fkd on with gfx card setting and are trying to sync above monitors allowed eg your trying to do 120Hz LOL

dude i have a 4870x2 and it will run diff res's but if you connect a hd dvd player and run @ 1080i thru a hdmi-dvi lead it wont run atall just says a bout optimum res as did my 2253bw

that aint exactly a straight connection though, use a diff dvi convertor or hdmi lead or return to samsung as it should work, but not at 1080i use 1280x720 aka 720P

which is just as good as 1080i actually imo its better cos it's not interlaced

see if you can get a ps3 to work on it via Dvi @720p if not then even it says HDCP compliant on plastic it's lying and needs to be returned to sammy.

Definately wrong picture as that looks exactly the same as my SM2032BW. Seems like a pretty good price for the new T220 series, definately not full HD tho

Why are u trying to plug a PS3 in via DVI when the argos and samsung websites says it has HDMI

marshalex;3236738

Why are u trying to plug a PS3 in via DVI when the argos and samsung … Why are u trying to plug a PS3 in via DVI when the argos and samsung websites says it has HDMI

Try to keep up

the person posting claims that his hd dvd player does not work via the DVI which shoudl be HDCP but 2 of my 940mw are supposed to be HDCP yet ps3 does not work on those 2 via hdmi>dvi as the 940mw has no HDMI in.

so therefore maybe his hd dvd player does not have HDMI or more to the point he does not have the version of the TV/MONITOR he thinks, if there is no HDMI socket on his 220 whatever it is, like the 220w which does not have tuner or hdmi etc.

the T220 has no tuner by the looks of it as samsung site keeps crashing on me lol but the T220HD def has analogue tuner and digital tuner according to manual specs etc

well you've contradicted yourself there by saying no HDMI, obviously he doesn't have the monitor he's claming to have and must have the T220 rather than the HD version which doesn't have HDMI, or a tv tuner

Original Poster

Just to clarify. This has a built in analogue and freeview tuner; 2 x HDMI, 1x DVI, 1x VGA, 1 x Component, 1 x SCART.
I have one sat in front of me right now. The model number is T220HD. You can get this as just a monitor, but that is a different product.
My PC World didn't even check if the local Argos had stock or not.

A good deal if you can get it. Definitely worth a punt. Just take in a print out from the Argos website.

exactly, the guy who is claiming to have this clearly has the standard monitor version, the T220, which has no speakers, VGA and DVI only.

btw fantastic post, think i perhaps should have waited rather than taking the plunge with my SM2032BW the other day

ahh i must have the non hd one but i tried to link it to a samsung HDMI dvd/freeview /160gb hdd and the monitor keeps giving messahes anout not native res and just goes black screen

Since it seems that it's completely out of stock at Argos, will PC World even price match? If you read the price matching terms, it would seem that they wouldn't.

They did for me. Looks like it may be hit and miss depending on your store.

T220HD = tuner, this is what is being sold, (redish frame)

T220 = no tuner (redish frame)

SM2232 = no tuner, good picture, this is what the picture shows, but not what you would be buying.

I just bought myself the
Dell S2409W (no tuner though, but full HD)

My vac was rubbish too, and there have been major problems with their fridge freezers. They should stick to mobile phones.

This looks like the ideal monitor for a spare room / computer room / office / child's room.

It's a decent resolution (sure, the Samsung website says it's ]full HD) at 1680x1050 (nearly full HD, a lot better than the 1366x768 TVs).

The contrast ratio is very good.

The inputs are varied, so this can handle your old PS2, your Wii, your PS3/Xbox360, your computer(s), etc.

It looks good too.

Will try the PC World price match. Or look for the T240HD cheap down the line... hmm.
