850 Evo is the better of the two (860 Evo has TRIM-related performance issues).
850 Evo is an established reliable proven design.

Newer isn't always better, regards Samsung. (Both still market leading drives).

Crucial MX500 is the price/performance drive to buy at the moment.
Crucial got their launch price right for the MX500, they've been aggressive in their attempts to take more market share of late.
5 year warranty on the MX500 too.

Agreed. I have EVO 850. Tried and tested. I would go for 850 if I purchased again.

An extra £17ish for an extra 250gb yea makes this deal a bargain not but yes your right its expired and i did say not as good as the maplin deal perhaps i should have added that "once was" at the end of it!

If the laptop has an SSD then its probably not worth the hassle or replacing it unless you need more space etc. If its got a spare slot then this like most reasonably priced ssd's is a standard 2.5 inch and will fit.

Thanks i think it has 128gb boot ssd for Windows i might just leave tht as tht will be the m2 mini ssd chip version thing ive seen in stores and then a 1tb hdd slow and noisy etc will this regular hardrive usually be a 2.5 like all the deals i see on here? Thats easy enough... appreciate the help. Thanks
500GB MX500 for £20 more from Amazon is a much better deal.

The Crucial has effectively the same performance as the Sammy, but much better £/GB...

£69.39 now
It's down to £65 now! If you take advantage of the current "Store top up" offer where you top up £40 onto a gift card using the barcode in a supermarket, then you get £10 free, so potentially you can get this card for £55! Amazon customer service gave me £5 promotional gift after an issue so i'm potentially going to get it for £55! Take that ebay!
