I went to my local John Lewis in High Wycombe and found Samsung 32" Television LE32B450C4W LCD HD Ready Digital for the great price of £299.95-this is the best deal i've found and i've been looking for a little while and have struggled to find it below £320!
It also comes with FREE 5 YEAR WARRANTY as standard!!

Its not available online as there is an online deal with free Harry Potter discs and this causes the price to go up as I found out when I rang them as my sister wanted one as well when she saw mine.

Unknown when this offer will expire in store.

you can get a 37'' plasma panasonic virra x10 for about £450(may even be lower)..it's only 720p but picture quality is so much better then lcds.1080p does not make that much of a difference on 37''.At this price range a 37'' plasma is a bargain.

There's an LG for £450 at Amazon. Have a look at the reviews.

Richersounds are doing the PANASONIC VIERA TXP37X10 for £450

Or the PANASONIC VIERA TXP37C10 for £400. This one doesn't have the anti-glare.

I've been put off the Vieras by friend who has one where the power button just makes the LED flash green for a couple of seconds then disappears, you have to switch it off, then back on again (hope that this time it'll work), it only has a single audio input and you can't do native widescreen over VGA so it means if you're using a laptop to view videos, they'll either be stretched, letterboxed or fiddle with the likes of VLC to get the correct aspect ratio.

Just so people know it's the same price in my local tesco, but doesn't come with the 5 year warranty like the JL ones.

the turning on problem is known, there is a software upgrade to resolve the issue. ( im guessing its a tx-32lmd70 or a tx32lxd70). if it is then any panasonic service centre should be able to help you out. only a 10 min job. The problem is caused by a delay in the panel lighting and the tv's processor stops trying to light it up thinking it is lit. the software adjusts the wait time of the processor.

Not much diffrence just that that the B4 is the new series 4. I would go for the B4.

No. The 5 year warranty is from John Lewis. Probably only comes with a standard 1 or maybe 2 year.

Samsung are only 1 year - on the 366th day it breaks........

because the store near the OP is operating on the we won't be beaten on price
the offer isn't nationwide - hence not on the website

picked up one of these last month online for £329 for the bedroom
a friend of mine saw it and went out and bought it for £350 instore the following week.
Good tv for the price, especially with the 5 year gaurantee

there's this one use code 3TV to get it for £426.79 dixons :

This TV is 50 htz and i was just wondering whether a game that is 60 htz (e.g. Halo 3) will play fine on it? Thanks guys:thumbsup:

I've just picked up one of these in Welwyn for £299 (including the 3 Harry Potter discs). You need to get them to ring the High Wycombe branch as it's still being displayed at £349 in the store.

They really are nice people in John Lewis.

Tesco have these at £349.97 on their website and I almost bought one at the weekend as they were showing at £299 but there was a glitch on the website (long story but I'm still waiting for a call back from their customer services). I was looking out for one of these and was about to get one from Dixons for £319. Really pleased to get the 5 year warranty, though I had that with my last one but it didn't cover 6 yr old girls throwing rollerskates at her older brother, missing and hitting the TV instead). Could have claimed on insurance, but not worth it with my excess!

Hi dude

It will run perfectly fine in "GAME MODE" i know original  this TV comes with a "GAME MODE" which when used improves response time and the Mhz so dont worry. Remember me from the deal request? well i just bought this tv today (taking it home tonight after work) and i will report back to you on what gaming is like on BIOSHOCK 2, MW2, RESIDENT EVIL 5.

As explained in the offer-on the website they are doing deal with Harry Potter DVD's hence the price-it should be a nationwide in store offer.

I own this TV...I'm pretty sure there isn't a thing called GAME MODE. There is a High Contrast mode which it suggests to use for gaming, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't do anything to the response time, Mhz etc.

The experts say diffrent

Console Gaming

Bucking the trend of high(ish) input lag experienced on the latest Samsung flat-screen HDTVs, the LE32B450 delivered praiseworthy gaming response. With [Game Mode] engaged, we measured input lag on the Samsung LE32B450 to be on par with that on our resident Samsung F96 LED-backlit LCD TV reference. Disabling [Game Mode] did not seem to cripple the Samsung LE32B450’s gaming response too much either: 8 times out of 10 the recorded input lag would equal that on the F96.

If you buy in store you get the Harry Potter Blue Rays as well. The offer is linked to buying any 32"+ Samsung TV, not just an online one. Most stores I expect will be £349 but you just have to ask nicely to get them to ring up High Wycombe. Make sure you remember which branch I had to ring up someone while in the store to look up this website as I had Southampton in my mind but it was £349 there as well.

Nice price and of course nice warranty.
Not really what i am looking for but only 2 hdmi inputs kill this for me anyways. No usb, no card slot, not full hd, no web.....

If all your after is a cheap screen then by all means, but, for me a tv needs to be so much more than that today.

Brilliant thanks for this tip-I didn't get the discs so I just called and they said that I should've done and they are posting them to me free of charge!! :)

If its any help, I have this TV and have conected my PS3 (Phat model), sky HD and Sony bds360 at various times. It is mainly used as a bedroom tv to be honest. IMHO this is an awsome TV for the money, £299 with 5 years piece of mind is great. The picture from the Sky HD and PS3 is awsome, running Need For Speed (the new one) was blistering. The picture is crisp and very good at motion handling. The blueray picture is just in another league. You will not be disapointed at this price point. Don't get me wrong if you want 100Hz you can pay the extra for it but with 24p (24 frames per second) from blueray you will not be able to notice the difference easily.

Hi

Me again! i bought this today from JL thanks OP! i can confirm the following.

1. It looks :w00t: awesome!
2. It does accept 1080p from PS3 and displays 1080p with no problems
3. Takes 10 mins to set up
4. Sound is great!
