Whilst we are on the subject, im slightly confused by Samsungs range of TVs. Series 6/7/8 are they new models or is series 8 the current model? Anyone throw light on this as im in in the market for a 39/40 smart tv.
Any opions out there in HUKD land.

Series 4 are generally HD-Ready, 5 Series 1080p and the higher models within have Smart capabilities, 6 series 3D and again as you move up you get Smart options, then higher you go you tend to have better hz features sizes and cost.

What do youplan to use the tv for and whats your budget? that will help you get a better idea of what to look for.

do not buy t.v.s from sainsburys.... any supermarket actually but definitely not sainsburys. used to work there they are not looked after in the warehouse, more damaged ones than good and they are all just rebadged. they once had 10 55 inch blaupunkt sets and 4 LG plasmas in all came back. with numerous problems. it's a supermarket. buy from a company you kno theatre good with electronics. you wouldn't go and buy food from John lewis or plumbs

Regardless of storage, you are still covered for damage? and the rebadged sets are usually just the "own" brand and lower end TV's.

If I was buying something direct from the store rather online you can simply refuse it if there's box damage evident. I've picked up 2 TV's together from my local Tesco - one for my house and one for my grandparents and nothing wrong with the condition of them.

So I wouldn't go as far as saying don't buy from a supermarket and my past experience, the spotty kid in John Lewis or Currys know just as little as your regular supermarket worker in a lot of cases.
