"lightening quick when copying files."
Does it turn white the more files you copy to/from it?
Dodgy reviews, YMMV. WD FTW!

got this thru flubit for £70.40
Having recently suffered two Seagate 2TB drives fail after about 13 months, it will be some time before they see any more of my money. I would suggest the Toshiba Canvio.
fYI - i opened mine and found a seagate barracuda. It's suspended on rubber, so it was kind of noisy for me. its going into a pc.

How fast are these hard drives? Do they cope well being recorded straight onto using something like fraps.

You haven't, it's still available at this price. Amazon have temporarily ran out of stock.

Click the "Get Deal" box at the top of the thread. It takes you to the price page, it's still there at £79.98 but out of stock. In my experience Amazon normally get out-of-stock items in within a week of placing an order.
What drive is inside, anyone done a Crystal Disk Info?

Hmm, my three drives just arrived - no paperwork.

But my address label states EB DN14 7UW, Fireworks Merchant which translates to Ebuyer !
BTW I only saved a fiver on each - maybe because I bought three.Still £75 for a 3TB 3 Year warrantied drive isn't too shabby and they're relatively easy to take out and use internally - if you're careful and not too hamfisted.
i've taken 2 drives out of the D3, they are seagate barracuda...but they seem very much slower than my samsung drives....actually half the speed...transfering around 40mg/sec vs 70mg/sec on the samsung. Any thoughts as to why?
"Protect this product with a 3-year warranty £19.99"
Warranty is not included on Amazon!
It probably is on warranty but only for a year , but not for three years... Flubit works well, I buy a lot from them, minmum discount is usually 6% buy can go up to 14%. It is worth is. Warranty wise, its Fireworks Merchant, but never needed to claim.
Bought it from ebuyer, they do state the 3 years manufacturers warranty!
Thanks guys and heat added

Samsung warranty is 3 years - clearly stated in and on the box and on their UK website.

Amazon always tout these extra scam warranties
Now £77.98.
Just took delivery of mine. And it's noisy! It's fine when idle but when it's reading/writing I get constant "clunks" that seem amplified by the case, I'm not sure that the noise itself is a bad drive or just the design itself, Does anyone else have the same issue?

I exchanged it for the Seagate Backup Plus 3TB. THe drive is faster I believe and it was the same price on the day luckily. The samsung was really loud and "gittery" for lack of a better word. Other reviews seemto suggest the same so not sure I'm the only one who was unlucky! If it works it works.

Luck of the draw I suppose. I had a Seagate Goflex 2tb go "bye-bye" two weeks ago. It is under warranty, the replacement is out for delivery today. Managed to get most of the things off it, except my X-Files and 24 collections. Will have to back them up from the original DVD's again.
A question for those who bought, is yours running too hot?? I have the Samsung D3 2TB version for 2 days now (inside is a Seagate ST3000DM001) . According to Crystal Diskinfo the temperature is 47 deg C when in idle (steady state when not reading and writing). There is no ventilation and the disk does not power down when not reading and writing. This does not look too good as my other disks are around 35 deg C when not reading or writing. When it writes it goes quickly to 52 deg C which exceeds the 50 Deg C considered to be temperature warning. Could any one with this run CrystalDiskinfo to see if you get the same experience?
