I seriously do not think the people who voted cold have any idea about this TV. It is well over £1,000 elsewhere. I challenge anyone to find a cheaper deal before voting cold!

Thanks, I've updated the title but still cannot understand the cold votes:?:

Why the hell is this cold? It's an LED TV!!!

Heat from Pete

So what's the REAL difference between LCD vs LED? Also, I thought that there is a bit of competition on the next gen of flat screen tech?

The difference is that the screens are both LCD but the LEDs replace the Fluorescent tube in the back of a standard LCD. The results are amazing and put the sets close to plasma in quality of picture/contrast/ghosting etc and makes the sets ultra thin and they consume a fraction of the power of a plasma.

The real next-gen sets are OLED where the LCD gets replace by OLEDs which do not require backlighting. Unfortunately there are issues with the lifespan of the OLED which means that the picture will be half as bright as new after 2-3 years. It will be a while before these sets have the same quality at a reasonable price.

BTW HOT as I haven't seen them under £1K either!

Have some heat

Why buy a LED tv if you can get a Samsung 40" LCD 200Hz with 80W power consumption for £799? I don't know much about LED so I won't vote. I think people vote cold because LED is kind of obsolete.

Voted hot + rep left

Nice to see it go + degrees, god knows why the cold voters.

MY brother saw one last weekend and could get over how much better it was than his Panny plasma (£1600 worth 2 years ago). He was banging on about the ambi light working amazingly well and really enhancing the viewing.

this tv is not in stock just tried to buy and saying one or more items is out of stock.when going through to the checkout.

Excellent LED price for this superb TV...LED and OLEd are the future...NOT old technology as someone said!

Or maybe the people who voted cold know EVERYTHING about this TV.
The major flaw in these TV's is the auto dimming feature, which can not be disabled. And when I say major, I mean MAJOR. When the picture transitions from light to dark quickly, or vice versa, the dimming doesn't respond quickly enough, leaving you with a second or two with little to see clearly on the screen (and although this was pointed out when the TV's were released, Samsung neglected to fix the flaw in their 2nd gen LED TV's).
They also suffer input lag, which is no good for gamers. And there are other little niggly problems that put MANY people of buying them (RF remote so you can't use your All4One etc is another annoyance). I was more than willing to shell out £1600 when they were released, and then I had a look at one myself and was thoroughly dissapointed with it.
Aesthetically they look fantastic, but I like to buy a TV for more than it's looks, and this one really didn't satisfy those needs, while many much cheaper TV's did.
