Wow, by the sounds of this it's EMP proof! so voted hot

Seriously, getting a new camera for christmas, and will need a new card, however I don't know what brand to go for, as I've had a 1gb and 2gb Sandisk card, and now neither will read. They were bought from retail stores, not China, so I assume they're 'real' sandisk cards. Is this common, do memory cards have a short life span? I want a 4 or 8gb card, I wouldn't trust anymore to a single card, any recommendations, is this a good one?

You've either been very unlucky or you've got a device which is ruining your cards.

May be you wouldn't want to leave your camera on the bar while you went to the loo? Just a thought?

NO! I bought two for my new camera last Christmas from mymemory. £7.99 each then.
They are good cards, brushed metal aluminium EMI shielding and solid resin inside,
I had one go through the washing machine patted it dry and it worked fine.

This happened to me with an expensive 8GB card. Turned out my card reader was trashing cards.

Hot and ordered - cheers.

Now 6.99, dammit

Strange that they have put the price up by £1?! Probably due to demand Amazon do this I've noticed some presents I ordered a few days ago are now more expensive. OP should update rather than expiring the post as it's still a decent deal at £6.99 for the added protection this card offers.

What a pansy promo video on Play - I'm looking at buying a memory card, not a new condo in Miami. What happened to videos that show you features and useful stuff without soppy music, fading text and shiney new sports cars? Dont know about anyone else but I wont be modelling my memory card to my mates to impress them. I wish John Smiths would do a no nonsense memory card without the fluffy sell we now seem to have thrust upon us. All that said and looking beyond the above, spec for spec seems a reasonably decent card for the money/ features/ peace of mind (only by reading the reviews though - no useful specs from Play).

Bought an 8Gb and 4Gb of these when they came up on offer before. Brilliant cards, nice and tough.

They also come with a 10 year warranty I think would have to double check. Use these in a camcorder and normal camera, and pretty fast writing.

Bit naughty to put the price up to £6.99, the RRP is totally unrealistic at £20. There is however a card on 7dayshop I've just gone for, it's a Duracell Class 10 SDHC 8Gb at £11 which I think might be a better bet, but if you happen to like taking photos near water, need a card that would survive the shock of taking a photo of the mother in law, then this is a good card to get

I got this last time at £5.29 - good quality card with a rubber case to keep it in.

This was £5.99 on 9th November. I know this because I ordered one.

Still a hot deal, though.

These cards are ok but the Class 6 rating is a little optimistic. With a Canon 550D the movie mode writes to the card faster than it can cope with and stops working after a few seconds. For HD movies i'd go with a lexar for a bit more. Fine for regular shooting though.

I have this from the last time round, feels very well made and replaced a Viking card that just fell in two pieces when getting it out of the camera.
