well take joy from the fact as the resoloution is not as good as the £599 panasonic 42" the other day. So you are not missing out too much.

Wow - 42" £599 or 50" £632 mmm yeah :? How many people actually use the 1080dpi and get full effect, not many, i certainly dont as i'm not paying for a HD Sky or freeview box...

brilliant deal mate, i voted hot.
Im gonna hold out for the new year sales though where im hoping to get a 50" plasma for as close to £500 as possible

prices fro plasmas etc could go up due to the stronger dollar and euro...

super hot good deal

Can anyone remember who had the deal for the Panasonic 42" for £599? I must have missed that one :?

repost.

It'll be interesting to see what's actually going to happen.

Personally, I think manufacturers and retailers charge what they can get away with. The actual unit cost to the manufacturer is secondary as you can safely assume it is only a fraction of what you pay in the shop anyway.

What manufacturers do rely on, however, are economies of scale. In other words, they need the sales volume. Now that a lot of consumers have bought their first flatscreen LCD or plasma, the key to driving sales will be in persuading them to part with more money in exchange for upgrading to something bigger and/or better. Keen pricing will be a major factor in times where consumers think twice about spending on non-essentials.

Also, I have yet to see a consumer product the price of which has increased in real terms over time.

If you need a TV now, by all means go for it. If you can wait, I think even better deals will be out there after Xmas.

i think you'll find I posted it 2 days ago

Dont forget If you have an egg card you will get a further 5% instant cash back

To the OP, it won't be cheaper in-store as there aren't any! All the Dixons stores (apart from the few at airports) have all been either closed or rebranded as Currys Digital. So Dixons is basically just an online retailer now. Good deal though, so I voted hot.

good night all

I've just got this screen and it's fantastic for the price - Be warned that a 50" screen is very big and it can dominate a room.
