What model is it? Not all 50" TV's are the same. You'll not get many 'votes' without some detail . Thanks for taking the plunge with your first deal.

Think my comment may have got you a few votes

For people who literally do not care about their TV being anything other than Samsung, 4k and big-ish.

That's not a knock on you OP, the lack of detail on the site is horrendous!

I saw this on their website a few days ago and went to a local store to check it out, none in stock in Portlethen if anyone is interested (on Sunday).
Site is poor but for what it's worth here is their description.

It looks to me like the 50NU7020, which is a 2018 model. I haven't seen the box so it's just a best guess, don't take my word for it.
Never trust flipping b&m as usual waste of time. Stock might be in somewhere 100 miles away from you. so not interested.

I know this question has got nothing to do with this TV. But I have I have just recently bought the Samsung 55ru7470 and was wondering if anyone knew of any decent sound bars
For around £100. I know I am not gonna get a great one but I am on a budget. Thank you
Only 2 HDMI will be a deal breaker for many folk.
Shame on Samsung for not including a headphone socket so i can improve on their crappy sound.

It's a TV, get over yourself.
TV snobs complaining about lack of USB ports in 3. 2.1.

Over your budget but IMO this is a bit of a bargain for a higher end brand like Yamaha, there’s an open box option on the right side of the web page for a bit extra saving.

I have no opinion on the matter personally, but it's probably best to leave that sort of stuff out of the comments. All it will bring is unnecessary arguments and take the focus away from the deal!

I won't report your abusive comment but will leave it up for posterity - I've noticed it's only the preserve of people like yourself to shut down freedom of speech

Incorrect. That's a 2019 model with 3 HDMI sockets and Bluetooth and a lot of other newer features. I would know. I own the one from Currys.

The one from Currys is a better deal. Beats me why anyone would upvote this, but I won't speculate as someone will report my comment, lol.
I was in Swinton store today and they had stock.

Great cause I wouldn't want you to waste the admin's time either

Funny because the man you're leaving abusive comments about cares the most about posterity!
AO have the same model for 349 delivered on eBay at the moment, it’s in eBay’s trending deals and you can also activate 6x nectar points so 1800 points apparently
Only 2 HDMI and I will avoid as updates will be hit and miss.
Want to get this to replace my old 41" Samsung HD, any good reviews? Serious heat

Yeh I thought that. I have a much, much older Samsung that has three hdmi ports.
Anyone know of any good deals on a Samsung ru8000 50inc
It's a well known fact (on TV enthusiasts related forums) that all of last years (NU) Samsung's 7 series TV's (except the 2019 Q70 upwards) are in fact better in most respects, especially picture quality than those in the current (RU) 2019 range of Samsung 7 series TV's.

Why is this though?
Does this have a MVA panel?
ck12111 - Basically due to complacency as Samsung feel they have the market share when it comes to TV's so they had little to prove with this years models and I guess they let their reputation speak for itself. Unfortuantely with this years models they cut back on picture quality and replaced it with apps and increased response time for gamers etc. Last years 2018 models review far better than the current 2019 models and in most cases the picture quality on 2018 models is much better using their own picture quality index (PQI) rating system. You can compare the 2018/2019 models over on RTINGS.com and watch their videos over on YouTube and in most cases it's clearly evident that the 2018 models come out the best which is a real shame for people buying Samsung TV's this year (me included!).

Rusty Spoons - VA panel yes, like most of the cheaper 7 series models. Some IPS panels have been known to be fitted on some but their usually grey imports and come with different remotes from the one's the UK specific TV's have.

Just letting everyone know that this TV is last years model NU7020 it has only 2 x HDMI ports and is bulky on the back. This years model is the RU7020 and has 3 x HDMI ports and has a slimmer back:
