Not bad switch, not bad.
Do you know if the 7020 model is much worse than this?
I need to replace my 12 year old Samsung, but only have up to £350 to do it at Argos.
This will do as my new PC monitor cheers @MrSwitch

I'm unsure on the difference tbh, but the 7020 is £319 at AO, or at least it was at last check.

Not a huge difference, but 7100 is better than 7020 and not much more expensive.

I was just looking on the Argos website and was struggling to work out the difference between the 7020 and 7100. Is it just somehow a better picture/sound quality?

The 7020 and 7100 are the same TV with different feet for the stand.

I stand corrected then I was very impressed with a 7100 for the money and would recommend but haven't seen a 7020 in person.
Thank you for all of your replies...very much appreciated 🏻

One more thing though (I think). I’m replacing a 32” Samsung that’s just died and sit about 6’ from it, but everything I’m reading says at that distance I need a huge tv! I’m thinking that I was relatively happy with my 32” but just fancied a bit bigger...would a 43” be adequate and noticeably bigger and also save me a bit of money too do you think?

Sorry for all the questions, but I really do appreciate the help!

At 6ft I'd be looking for at least a 50", especially of you are seeking any sort of benefit from 4K UHD content. I sit about 5ft away from my 55" NU7400 and it's just right for me.
It just seems odd the recommended viewing distances are so short given that when you were little you always got told off and told not to sit so close to the tele

Again, thanks for all the advice though and I shall mull it all over and try and make a decision this afternoon 😁

The assistant in Richer Sounds told me the only difference is the stand/feet. Hope this helps

I went for the 43" version from a 32". It's perfect, a big difference to the 32" So glad I didn't get the 50"

John Lewis won't match, just got email:

We've checked with Argos and we’re unable to accept the price match on this occasion. This is because the item is the same price or more expensive with the competitor than the price you paid at John Lewis & Partners.

The Hisense B7500 is definitely not better than the Samsung RU7400.

Dolby Vision is the only spec improvement on the Hisense, the RU7400 lacks it simply because Samsung don't support the standard.

Panel quality, build quality, image processing, colour gamut, software, and input lag are all better on the Samsung.

The RU7100/7020 are very similar to the B7500 however.
Edited by: "chancooluk" 11th Jan
input lag on the Hisense B7500 is 50ms whereas on the samsung ru7100 it is 10ms. This means you'll see a lag on screen when moving your gaming controller. This is even more clear if you link up a gaming monitor and a tv together. The response time on the samsung is also "80% Response Time 7.7 ms & 100% Response Time
19.5 ms". No info on the Hisense. The faster the response time, the less blur you'll see in games while moving. rtings.com/tv/…100
My Samsung C24FG73 (Gaming monitor) response time is around 10ms as well. So if you wish to also play games on your tv, id recommend the samsung. I was close to buying the b7500 but saw how bad input lag can be.
Edited by: "quackstar84" 11th Jan
This video explains both terms;
I can't find info on the ru7400. The excellent site rtings.com focuses on US TVs. They don't have any info on the ru7400. Either way im waiting for an 50" to 55" ru7400 or ru8000 depending on price. The ru8000 has native refresh rate of 120Hz which would be good for gaming in 1080p. If your pc can run games more than 60fps when out of vsync.. say around 144fps i would recommend the ru8000.
Edited by: "quackstar84" 11th Jan
I was also going to buy the 43" version of the ru7400 but it is a panel lotto with that size screen. It can be either an ips or va panel. I want the va one.

I have a B7500, only game on it and notice no lag between controller input and screen, and I have no issues with the screen blurrring. At those tiny increments of time, I don't think anyone is noticing a difference anyway, so the talk of input lag is moot. As it is, the B7500 certainly has a better panel, colours and contrast versus the RU7100 I viewed in JL.

I recommended the Hisense as you said you only had a budget of £350. I think it's the best bang for buck at that price. My opinion of course.
Thanks for this. John Lewis price matched this for me today with a 5 year warranty :-):)
One difference between the 7100 and the 7400 models, according to the John Lewis website is that the 7400 has a FreeSat HD tuner built in. The 7100 does not.

That's true.

The 7400 also has a brighter panel, with a wider colour gamut.

What is recommended distance for a 50” ?
John Lewis will price match - well, they just did for me. tempted to get it from AO as I can get a further £20 off (and topcashback) but the John Lewis warranty is longer
