I see it's been cheaper in the past, but currently seems like a good deal on the 55 inch Samsung TV.

Thinking about buying, seems to get good reviews for gaming.

From Hughes Electrical who seem to get decent reviews.

I've got the 50" version of this TV and it's great. If the TV doesn't update to the latest firmware (v2111.1) download it from the Samsung site on a laptop, copy to a USB and update the TV that way then it gives you the Xbox and Nvidia Now apps. Link your Xbox or PlayStation controller to the TV and away you go! I have Game Pass Ultimate and mainly use this now instead of the Xbox! You can play Fortnite for free without a subscription as well I believe

(bit long winded but hope it helps!)

Sounds nice, I've got the 50" 8 version - is there similar option for the update?

I purchased it in the last deal, and it has a few unique features that make it a brilliant budget choice.

It runs 120hz at 1080p, which means if you have a Series S you can run it locked at 1080p (Which looks great on a 43-inch screen) and you get buttery smooth high refresh rate gaming all the time.

It also works with Samsung soundbars to combine the soundbar and TV speakers (I think it is called Q-Symphony) for added fidelity. The speakers are tinny, but if you get a soundbar it works well together.

The only issue I found was the 43 inch model stand means that the HW-S60A soundbar I got off another deal for 70 pounds, would not fit underneath. So I created a 3D model to fit them together thingiverse.com/thi…000

    I would heartily recommend it.

It doesn't run 120hz at 1080p. The panel is hardware limited to 60hz. The TV accepts a 120hz signal, but it uses "motion xcelerator turbo" to both remove every other frame, and use motion smoothing to emulate 120hz. Initially Samsung marketed the TV as being 120hz capable, but they removed this from the marketing shortly after release because it was faked in software.

Looked around some more but couldn't see a better deal so I bought direct from Hughes with TopCashback (4%). Arrived the next day.

Looks good, very slim. Sound seems ok (the only area of reviews where it seems to be let down)

I've also got the 50 inch. It's decent. No complaints.

Easy to use. No lag in the menus. Good picture. Nice gaming features. I don't really understand the gaming features, but it supposedly offers something better than the norm.

The sound is nowhere near as bad as reviews make out. Unless you're an audiophile, it's fine. I did buy a soundbar for it and there was a difference, but it kept messing with game mode so I unplugged it. That and it's an additional electrical device and it's all extra money to be paid.

It's very slim. It only weighs about 20kg iirc. Probably easy to put on a wall. I don't personally, but you might.

I don't use the smart features. I like my TV's dumb, rather than smart.
I recently bought a PS5. Looking forward to trying out some 4K UHD Blu-ray's on it. Standard Blu-ray's look decent on it though.

I recently bought the 50 inch version of this and got it for £360 with a 5 year warranty with Samsung direct but I did buy it from Appliances Direct it was the last one left. I like the TV so far picture quality is nice and a bit disappointed with the sound of it could have been a bit better but overall happy with it. I only use mine as a bedroom tv and mainly for movies and YouTube etc. comes with 2 remotes and I am a fan on the Samsung smart remote. Good build and quality so would recommend. I am not a gamer but it’s a 120hz tv if that helps
