Isn't 4K or Smart, but looks like a decent price for a large TV. Is £100 off at the moment, and can use code TDX-KPYK for an extra £20 off.

I just wonder exactly how many people are watching 4k on their very expensive tv's at the moment? 4k is just another way for the tv companies to upgrade our hd tv's personally 1080p is fine for me and that's a big screen for the money as for not being smart that can easily be sorted for a few quid.

Just bought a Toshiba 55" 4 k ultra hd in store for £335

Can you not take it back?
Good price, nowhere near as good as last weeks Samsung deal but i'd take this over a cheap 4K set any day.

old technology which should be around £250 mark at the most
better off paying the extra for 4k

Why? Not everyone pays for 4k feeds....

Why? Because if you buy cheap, you buy twice.
based on my fake "toshiba" 22" "1080p" vestel rubbish I got to replace a samsung tv monitor I accidentally smashed... a good brand 1080p would be better than low quality 4k as computer text unreadable on the vestel / toshiba. toshiba no longer makes tvs in europe. brand bought by turkish vestel.

My rule of tech is when something is ground breaking then it is worth to buy it eg when the 750ti came out that allowed me to get a cheap gaming pc by upgrading a refurbished work destkop so I upgraded from my old laptop, or when Google navigation came out for android I ditched my Nokia phones. Otherwise usually cheaper to get the best of yesterday's technology second hand for real value for money eg 1080p with top display.

Good price for the size screen alone as it is a better brand

What was that deal?
Decent. Just chuck a Chromecast or Fire Stick in it, and it's smart.

Not everyone needs or wants smart though.
when connected up to a PS4 / android box / fire stick etc then you have your smart capability. Good price I think

Not about the smarts - but build quality - go have a look at one.

chromecast or fire stick less user friendly but more future proof as new . services come out.

I've already seen one, build quality is fine and picture quality is good. The design is chunkier and it doesn't have smart, apart from that not much difference.

Disagree; Samsung is a reasonable make if all you want is an average TV.

If you want a very good TV then buy OLED but they are much more expensive.

I have Samsung TV myself but why buy a 1080p TV now at this size when you can get 4K for abit more. End up wanting to buy a 4k TV in 2 years which 99.9% on here will ended up doing, once they got this. That's what this website is here for isn't it?

If you don't have any good 4k feeds then 4k is pointless. A poor 4k TV is far far worse than an average non-4k TV for SD & HD signals.

I think less than 30% of people will pay for quality 4k feeds, the people who do will be happy to spend allot on their TV packages etc. No one has made quality 4k feeds available for free; why should they as its mainly a format to drive up revenue.

Malachi, please tell us about this 55" 4k TV at £359 that isn't a 'cheapo', therefore won't result in buying twice.

Thanks.

Malachi you're a salesman's dream - half the people can't tell the difference between 4k and a good 1080p picture. People have too much money these days do something worthwhile with it.
now now girls ...
Each to their own!
Personally I have a 42" Panasonic Viera in the lounge - Samsung Smart 32" in the bedroom and ,, wait for it ...a 42" FURRION for the PS3 in the man cave (it has no upscaler and isnt a 'smart' tv - but the picture quality is superb and it cost less than £250 - its the best picture when the app/device is providing 1080p

The Viera was the neck end of a grand when it came out - but the Samsung beats its hands down for playing any movie / picture file I throw at it - and the quality of the Samsung is good -

Now I can watch each of those TV's no problem - they are all good in their own way for the purpose they were bought -
and I agree - throw a firestick and Chromecast at the non smart Samsung and you have a decent quality full 1080p tv which will play ANY media fiel you throw at it without missing a beat
Plus - who actually has anything 4k right now?
Everyone moaning about who has 4K right now, like that is good argument to not get 4K..

I have a Samsung 55KS7000, there are a thing called 4K movies, XB1s plays 4K BD's, PS4 Pro both of those support HDR and very well too. Sky & BT both do 4K.. Youtube, Netflix & Amazon Prime all do 4K and HDR streaming, and I get fibre at about 25MB/s and 4K streams fine for me.

There is plenty of 4k content available right now, just because eastenders isn't in 4K doesn't make an argument to buy old tech.. future proof yourself now.

Can you show where you got that 30% figure from? also 4K is a resolution increase its not a fad or a scam to increase revenue.
£359 HD stupid TV, goes hot . £300 4k smart TV that plays anything off usb: "cold, vestel bla bla bla".

I do watch netflix in 4k, all my work is 4k and I display it to my clients in 4k.

Whist your point of view might be valid, and I am genuinely not trying to troll here,
believe it or not there are people out there (like me) who don't have a gaming thingy, and refuse to pay for and nor do I want netflix / prime / sky / bt,

Some people just want a decent quality FREEview HD tv - and this for some might meet their needs (not me personally)

But the "future proof yourself" statement does not make any sense IMHO

BTW your KS7000 is a very good tv - but would be overkill for me. each to their own

There are no quality free 4k feeds and I can't see that changing. The difference between 4k and full HD is minor unless you have a pretty large TV, so I still stand behind 4k being primarily designed to shift new tvs and being able to charge more for content.... Each to their own some people what the latest and greatest and will pay for it, but many don't and won't
