Been looking online for a decent LG OLED but came across this 55" Samsung Q8F which seems to be the best price for it at the moment if anyone's in the market for it.

Need to use the £300 off code: SAVE300

Includes 5 year warranty so you could get John Lewis to price match.

The 65" is only £1799 (use code SAVE540) but it seems to be oos but not sure if you can back order... (link to 65")

John Lewis won't price match... As far as I know they don't price match to shops which are online only, and again, as far as I know, reliantdirect is online only? Lol
Given the choice of this or the LG, I'd go for the LG everytime.

QLED tech is about to become obsolete anyway once Samsung bring their Micro LED tech to the market.

Oled is over rated imo. the only advantage really is black level anyway. It has shorter lifepan, image retention, and burn in, which manufacturers themself is so un-confidence about it, the warrenty doesnt cover it. I wont spend so much money for a tv where i cant watch same channel or game for few hour stright for fear of burn in and have to run recovery program every week in fear of burn in. Espeically when warrenty doesnt even cover it. Oled still have a long way to go

Also LCD is high brightness hence better HDR performance,

You obviously didn't like plasma either then, even at 1080p they're still capable of producing far better images than any LCD ever has or will. LCD still has the same inherent issues it always has so you have to decide what is important to you, in your case guaranteed poor picture quality over a long period of time is your priority

Samsung's new tech is going to be interesting, they obviously have confidence in it given they decided they didn't want to compete in the high end market for a few years with this QLED rubbish.
Rather have a Sony ZDX9 or XE93 than the Q8 which is way over priced imo. Also wouldn't take a OLED, to many issues for my use points. Micro LED is where its going to be, OLED imo is a stopping point. Its why every other manufacturer is buying the panels from LG, they dont want to invest in what looks to be a short term tech for at least TV's (Again just my opinion).

Interesting!
Choosing a TV is hard, I think I'll just give up and start reading more. Sounds like I should be waiting for Micro LED before buying a long-lasting TV. I was all set to buy the MU7000 but every time I hear something that makes me think I should wait, now they're all out of stock anyway!

You’ll never buy a new TV if you think like that. If you have the money, I would purchase this one.

65" out of stock unfortunately, I was very tempted because the price is similar to what I would have paid for the MU7000. My struggle never ends.

If its picture quality you want pioneer kuro 5090 can still be picked up for about 300. Picture quality 9.999/10

You'll be waiting at least five years for a MicroLED set that won't require remortgaging your house. Likely closer to ten. Unless you're willing to sit it out that long with what you've already got, you might as well just buy something (flawed as it will be, because every single TV on the market has them) and enjoy it while you wait. And no doubt by the time that MicroLED is finally entering sensible price territory, TV companies will be hyping up the next big thing anyway and you'll want to wait for that.
The Samsung sets are stupidly overpriced this year. The oled55b7v and kd-55xe9305 are better TVs at this price point
