Been looking for a good TV to hook up to my PC for gaming and this is the best i've found for around £500. Low input lag, 120Hz panel and Freesync/VRR makes this a great choice for gaming.

nice tv and in my budget
How do you get 120hz at 4k through a hdmi cable ?

I thought 4k was always 60hz but that was using a DP cable and 30Hz with HDMI cable ?
Warranty?

It's only available with hdmi 2.1 which this TV doesn't have. It can do at most 1440p@120hz. So not suitable if you want to future proof for next gen consoles. Some of the latest LG's have hdmi 2.1 but are obviously more expensive

I've been eyeing this TV for a while for my ps4 pro. This is a great price, but I'll probably wait for another retailer who offers longer warranty.

Warranty?

Seems to be 12 months which is pretty disappointing. I've never had a TV fail on me or smashed one since no kids so I'll take the risk.

Future proof? Imo this is a great choice for next generation consoles, I would be very surprised if any games target above 60fps at 4k, the trade off is not worth it at that point never mind the fact console gamers have been living in the 30fps for a long time, So yeah this is a great choice for this and the next generation

30hz HDMI? You know the consoles on the market do 60hz 4k atm right lol

Yes I agree the ps5/Xbox series X will be 4k/30 or 4k/60 on most games. I think Devs will go for 4k/30 since console Devs always prioritize graphics over smooth FPS since it sells more

Not with the next systems they're pushing a minimum 60fps on that cpu and round 100+ at 1080p.... Easy this time round because of the jump in the cpu tech,

Depends because they could just push the graphics/ai/physics etc so much they will be 30fps.

The OP referred to 120hz and freesync so I presumed PC gaming.
Playing modern warfare on my gtx 1070 through my old lg led tv getting loadss of screen tearing, (and due for an upgrade, torn between q60r or ru8000

@ullfbs The hyphen in the deal title would have been better as a comma but at least you have answers in the thread

@Keelan_ Good deal and congrats on your first deal As you say this is a good match for PC gaming (especially with a Freesync GPU), sitting reasonably square on to the screen; excellent low lag and really wide range for Freesync VRR at both 1080 and 1440 resolutions; though at 4K it's a lot tighter (48 to 60Hz.)

This TV isn't great at HDR if that's important to anyone.

If you haven't already then research using the Freesync on those TVs with your GTX 1070 - I don't know if it works through HDMI, might be displayport only; someone here might know for sure.

Is your current TV 60Hz and if so does fast-sync help or not, or even make it worse? I assume you play with mouse & keyboard..?

As for the TVs then Rtings has them pegged at being very similar...

PC gaming = monitor all day long,

As for your setup just put on fast sync and lock the fps to 59/60
Running it on a LG 49UH610V (pretty old unit)
Defo 60hz and mouse and keyboard over thanks for the info lads!, just looking into this fast sync as we speak 👀🔍🔍
Argos have reduced this model down to £599 today, £150 off and still the most expensive place to buy it

TU8000 Should be available anytime. It's on Samsung's US site here: samsung.com/us/televisions-home-theater/tvs/crystal-uhd-tvs/55-class-tu8000-crystal-uhd-4k-smart-tv-2020-un55tu8000fxza/

It's likely to be a slight downgrade on the RU8000 though, as the RU8000 was downgraded from the NU8000.

Edit: looking at the specs the TU8000 is listed as "motion rate 120" on Samsung's site, which means it should be a native 60hz panel, which is a big downgrade from the 120hz panel on the RU8000 (listed as motion rate 240). It looks like the TU8000 might have more in common with the RU7400.

I'm guessing it will be much more expensive too, at least until November/December
Hi guys, I'm looking for a TV around £500 and I was going for the Hisense 55U7BUK... this one is around the same price and mentioned a lot when looking for similar range TVs, which one would you recommend? Thanks
