Samsung 55" UE55MU6120 HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV just £419 at John Lewis

Might not be the latest model and have all the bells and whistles of more expensive model, but seems an excellent price for a large TV from a well respected manufacturer for anyone who simply wants a large screen TV. Five year warranty from John Lewis, price matched for me today with RGB direct (using the £30 off code on RGB's website).

Probably get shot down as it doesn't have the spec of a £1200 model, but for someone like me who just wants a large screen TV with a decent picture, a good warranty and isn't likely to need or use all the capabilities of a higher spec model it seems a great deal.

Works out at £1.61 a week for the 5 years of the warranty, even if you just recycle it at the end

Better change the title to £499 because that`s what is showing at JLP.

Why? It’s £419 for anyone who can be bothered to price match. Takes about as long as a pointless post on here

Is proof really necessary?! The OP has already gone to the hassle of posting the deal for everyone’s benefit, they shouldn’t then have to faff about providing proof

Its odd that their slogan is ‘never knowingly undersold’ - you have highlighted to them that they’re being undersold, yet they haven’t changed the price on their website!

Great deal by the way
It's a shame that it's got to the point that we can't post deals without attracting stupid comments. I knew this would happen, but thought it was too good a deal to keep to myself. Anyone who doesn't believe me or somehow thinks they know better than John Lewis staff can keep looking I guess.

Paid £500 last year for the 50' version, still very happy with it. For this price with the warranty it's a fantastic deal.
Anyone know what type of panel this is?VA?

Thank you for your email concerning a price match enquiry.

I’ve checked with RGB Direct and have found that the Samsung UE55MU6120 HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, 55" with TVPlus, Black [82452001] is priced at £419.00 after applying promotional code 'SPORTS30 '.

If you choose to make your purchase with us, we’d be happy to match this price.

Once JL agree the price match you get a code and instructions on how to do it. It really is quite simple.

And no, I haven't bought it yet. Still working out if 55" is too big

Well deals usually require proof of authenticity...

Otherwise I could just post up anything...

I’m not being rude or unkind, it’s purely how this site works...

Ho ho ho...

Again, i’m merely asking how you go about this as it isn’t clear in the post...

Jeeeeez!

All good buddy, i’m super tempted to do this as I want to upgrade my 40”.

With the JL warranty, it’s a cracking deal!

Heated!
At RGB the 5 year warranty costs £96.

JLP will only price match an exact deal.

JLP has a 5 year warranty, RGB does not unless you pay another £96.

It is odd though. Why would anyone post a deal that wasn't true. It's not as we earn money from here or anything. The site is simply here to inform other people of deals. At least it was when I joined 12 years ago.

I'll let John Lewis know so I can pay them another £96 then
Anyone used this with ps4 pro.

Do you really think JLP doesn`t know?

This is not an exact price match and JLP won`t honour it.

I own the 50" version and the PS4 Pro games look excellent.

You haven`t got the deal.
You are still measuring your lounge.

In fact nobody has got the deal as yet.

Honestly couldn't care less, but it's annoying that the odd idiot might put other people off with incorrect information
I've got this as a 40" in the back room and it's fantastic. The picture is excellent and one added thing that is rarely mentioned - how good the usb sockets are. I have a Sony Bluray player and its fussy about some files it'll play like MKV and MP4's and even some avi files (yet will play all 3 most often) yet this telly plays EVERYTHING with nary a hiccup
John lewis price match is easy, just fill form on their website and they will send you price match confirmation within 48 hours. I recently price matched Sony 49 inch 4k TV with RGB direct. John Lewis doesn't need competitor to provide 5 year warranty for price match
Only problem is if RGB sell out or increase price before JL get round to price matching. Then you have a £499 tv.

I too have been using this for a good number of years and all the posts have links/codes and often receipts to prove the validity of the deal, that’s all.

This has been blown way out of proportion and I merely wanted to see if it was a “one off” or a deal that could be validated for the masses to benefit from...

That... is.... all....

As long as you get the agreement to price match before purchase you are fine. Definitely a risk buying first, then asking for price match
I have ordered this TV via rgb price match at JL on Monday and it will be arriving on Tuesday next week
Appreciate the positive comments about the TV. It might be too large, but we'll see! Just ordered, but not arriving until a week Monday as we are away next week. Wife will be happy for Wimbledon anyway

I'm totally confused as well. I would guess it's not as good as the MU7000, but it's around £280 less than that model so it wouldn't be. For all the confusing talk about specs etc, I'm guessing I'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between something costing £400 and something costing £1000 if I'm honest. I don't play games, don't have a blu-ray or ultra HD player, don't have access to a 4K feed or spend a lot of time watching the TV so any small difference won't be critical. If it's as good a picture as my 4 year old Panasonic, but larger, I'll be happy and I know if it packs up, there is a lengthy warranty with a reputable company.

In my experience the more you spend, the more you scrutinise something anyway. I'm not going to be complaining at just over £400. Can't believe you can get a Samsung 55" TV for that. Paid well over £1000 for our first 40 inch flatscreen 12 years ago.

Thanks, voted hot. I've never tried to price match with JL but I guess there's always a first time. Seems like a good price for a 55". Might not have all the bells and whistles but I'm sure it will be good enough
