This is a repost of the original deal from just over 4 weeks ago, but the price has come down further, after expiring by going back to £1899 at Electro Centre.
Edited by: "starkey" 13th Dec 2012

The last time I tried, John Lewis wouldn't price match the electro centre. Has this changed?

Do Electro Centre have a shop? If not John Lewis will not price match - at least that's what they told me yesterday

Yes they have a shop, lots of people have priced matched with them, so unless this have changed in the last 4 weeks, I expect I will get my price match again tomorrow.

Slightly off topic you can get the 46inch model from PC World for

£1439 with free delivery with voucher code SES10

In that case it's a great deal from John Lewis.. Electro centre have a shop on Soho Road, Handsworth Birmingham.

Thanks

No thanks.

Yes please

I have this model price matched, just waiting for the NX1000 camera to come back in stock
so I can buy them both, get £50 cashback from the camera and get a free galaxy tab 2 and £200 back from the TV.

I got the 65" from JL a few weeks back, they price matched electro centre no problems

I can confirm price Match works with JL when comparing with EC. I purchased the UE46ES8000 with 150£ Samsung rewards included for £1400.

Though, I have heard some issues, I would just request it again and someone is bound to approve it!

so much for their "never knowingly undersold" pledge. In theory if they have price matched they should be reducing the price across the board. Have had my eye on the Electrocentre price, another alternative is to get Richersounds to price match as they are also including a 5yr warranty and a 3D player. Unfortunately I don't think they deliver as it's an instore purchase for the Samsung.

Some rich dude will buy that lol

Heat added as it is a good price for this particular TV, I would recommend though looking very carefully if you need the 8000 as it offers very little above the 7000. The hardware is essentially the same (and they use the same firmware), you just get the different stand and 'extreme micro dimming'.

Also, Samsungs new range of TVs will be announced next month when these will drop in price.

This is my predicament but I think (correct me if I'm wrong) you can price match an item upto 28 days after purchasing as many times as you want and they just refund the difference each time, could be handy if the price goes down a lot around Christmas/Boxing day sales for example.

yep, just had my price match email come through and they have matched at the £1779 price as opposed to the £1784 I submitted so thumbs up to John Lewis. Just about to press the buy button.....should I or shouldn't I....................

Cannot see myself spending around 2 grand on tele. Can anyone recommend a good Samsung around £750 with Led, 3d and Smart features?

I was tempted to get the one below but don't have Costco membership.

Rip off, it's a Samsung.

Why would you pat that much when you see a Panasonic VT50 trashes it.

I'm never buying a Samsung ever again or a LED. I love plasma, just doesn't have the super high brightness of LED's though.

I think if you're going to buy a plasma you definitely want to go for a Panasonic but I just don't like the issues you get with plasma like image retention etc.

ConsiderIing going for the LG55LM960V... passive rather than active 3D and the dual play facility with games seems a great plus. Now if only the price would come down to the samsung level..

IR is a thing of the past, IR doesn't interfere with anything though even if you get it. It goes away with normal TV use.

posted an essay ( ) in this other hukd thread - would be interested in any objective views you guys may have pls...
