Is this £1499 or £499?
I'd be all over this if only it had HDMI 2.1

Lots of money for a TV that isn't future-proofed.

Heat though. It's a great price.

Can’t the one connect box be upgraded to accommodate it?

Apparently Samsung will upgrade it for free if you can provide proof of purchase! Been disappointed by the C9 as just seems to dim like a black filter has been placed over it, have to use peak brightness turned on to get it anywhere where I like it. Q90 just pops more and the colours are vibrant!

They've even skimped on that though as well. The new box only has one HDMI 2.1 port.

Ludicrous for a flagship TV.
Wonder if the 65inch bundle will drop a bit more £800 difference seems a bit steep. Has this dropped in price from last week?.
Just done an unboxing video on the 65 inch version and also a daytime brightness and reflection test video, plus will be doing loads of other videos comparing it to the B9 LG OLED.

Feel free to PM me if you would like to see the videos

I’m proper struggling to chose between this and the c9.

I had the same issue!

I found for gaming and day time viewing the q90 is immense.

For that cinematic dark gritty vibe the c9 was good for films.

....I went for the q90 with the q80 soundbar and do not regret it at all. Also the flat wall mount fits it perfectly agaisnt the wall, the c9 cannot fit flush to the wall as the mountng is at the fat bit at the bottom!

To be honest, it’s almost impossible to future proof a TV. Even computers, phones etc.

Technology just moves way too fast and at some point, you just have to take that leap and purchase.

HDMI 2.1 will be most relevant to gamers for now, with the new PS5 and Xbox towards the end of next year boasting higher frame rates.

Yep and the screen burn in is the main selling point. personally i think samsung has shot themselves in the foot this gen.

I am hoping next gen is better
Is it Samsung’s current year flagship model? Still can’t decide whether qled or oled TV would be better for me...

There certainly comes a point where you can't pack every future-proofing feature into a TV but we're talking about HDMI 2.1 here, not holographic projection or something equally outlandish! The 2.1 spec was released in 2017 and we're now in nearly 2020 with flagship QLEDs still not offering it.

No eARC either as far as I'm aware, despite all the promises 6 months ago from reviewers that a firmware update would be on the way.

For gamers, it's a struggle to buy this when the next gen consoles are only a year away.

Its got to be the Samsung i have it and it is amazing. Films look awesome and the picture on my ps4 pro and xbox x are out of this world. With added soundbar it is a cracking deal and you wont be disappointed

But have you owned both?
Brilliant deal, bought it for £1600 in August from Samsung. Lol any chance of returning it & taking advantage of this deal?

It'll still support VRR and ALLM even in the absence of 2.1. No 4K @ 120Hz though

Thanks for letting me know. The soundbar included with this isn't meant to be great, but it's decent. I am just trying to work out if this is a good enough deal to bite or if Black Friday might bring further price drops. Who knows?

I'd recommend buying this, the soundbar is worth £400. Could always buy it & keep it boxed, return it if you find something better on BF

Go for it a sales person in richer sounds told me black friday is just a ploy to get rid of old stock. I doubt this price will get any cheaper but if it does ring them and they will refund the difference
Shame, looks like the £50 discount code no longer works. Still a good deal

Edit: Correction, it is working for standalone TVs but not this bundle anymore

One of my friends has got LG oled and my dad's Got Samsung qled (that particular one thats been mentioned) both brilliant TVs, I would love to own either one of them if I could afford them. But after seeing them both and watched them both and played games on them both the LG oled wins. As my mate says if you want a oled/qled TV then it's LG all the way and if you want a LCD/LED it's Samsung all the way. As I have just mentioned both LG and Samsung versions are brilliant but LG Oled just pips it (And the reason is what you have all been saying 2.1hdmi)
Question - why would you purchase a qled at oled prices..? It's not a dig at qled, but at this price range I would have thought oled all the way.

Without starting a war, QLED is LCD and all LCD use LED, so what you mean is, if you want OLED, get an OLED, if you want arguably the best LCD get the QLED

Depends mainly on your viewing content, and how you like your image to look. Samsungs brighter displays favour bright rooms, they're also great for gaming. OLEDs are perfect for watching movies and if you prefer more realistic colours and tones. I gave it some consideration like you and opted for OLED. QLEDs are great TVs but I find the look too fake and saturated.
