This is the newer cheaper version and not the 850.
This has a 3 year warranty as SanDisk and Crucial, which were as low as £40 earlier this year.
Prices that may not be repeated for some time as the £ is in free fall.

Will it burst in to flames? (Rhetorical question and a joke).

Tis indeed the cheaper version, still a good drive though! Some of the specs are a little better than the Crucial/Sandisk drives (that I've seen, correct me if I'm wrong!). Also at this moment in time, I cant find either of those drives for a lower price than this.

Look at the integral p4. The speeds for the price are amazing plus comes with a good warranty. I'm surprised it doesn't get the recognition it deserves

I saw this email myself from Ebuyer and thought - woah. But then as already pointed out, I realised it was a 7xx version Ideally you want 8x or 9x, so nothing really that special unfortunately.

I've recently posted this same deal when I got the email, didn't notice this post. Heat given as it's a cracking price.

As far as the drives quality it actually benchmarks quicker than the 850 but not as hard wearing, for the little I use my PC now the speed advantage and price compared to the 850 is well worth it, plus it still comes with the Samsung 3 year warranty... I've been looking for a new SSD for a while and this deal made me bite within minutes of getting the mail.

Could be useful to put SSD in the title so people can find it easier, I used that to check if deal was already on and Nothing came up, I always search that when looking for drives to show all deals

Thanks for the heads up! I must have deleted that by mistake!

SSD prices have stopped dropping. Hardly budged in 2015, even before the Brexit vote. Harumph, I say.

gbp to usd has fallen from 1.60 usd to the pound to 1.21257 now (time : 21.04)

So yes they have stopped dropping and slowly increased if the company hasn't itself reduced prices (as in the s850evo/pro).

It is the effect of pre brexit vote and post it

According to 3 camels, Samsung 850 1TB dropped from £380 to £260 from Dec 2014 to Aug 2015, and has stayed about the same ever since, apart from a slight rise in August. The price flatlining therefore predated the Brexit vote by 6 months.
