Don't you mean 1TB? For 500GB that's gonna get freezing cold!

edited thanks for pointing out haha

Great price

it was £236ish as an Amazon Lightening deal. I had it in my basket a few times but couldn't pull the trigger.

I know ... time machine ... blah blah blah

Needed one for a client build, so thought, they are cheaper from the warehouse by 7%, see what its like, so ordered at £259 with prime, be interesting to see what the condition is like in and out for an ssd.

As for new, these are knocking on a bit now, the setup guts are over 3+ years old, so looking forward to some new pro-consumer ssd drive launches in 2015, when the prices for pro / top of the shop ones would have settled a bit.

Still worth the purchase if you need some space and do not have much room on your laptop fitted drives.

I would check the SMART counters - you may find out 500 TB has been written to it...

Will do, tbh, it will be superwritten with 0's anyway, so be interesting to see what they have done to it "in ye olde tech warehouse shope" department in Amazon!

Live chat seems to think it is new and will just be the wrapping replaced, even at 30days return thought it was worth a punt

why 500TB?

ag112

why 500TB?

I was joking - just in case the SSD was used in a long-term test and is about to croak

I've had Dell Outlet systems with SSDs with TB of data written to them which I was not happy about, sure still 9X% life left - but you know how it is - you expect new(er) even though you know it's not...
