Hot deal -Surely it cant be too long before SSDs are commonplace in sub £500 laptops ?

good deal. I bought 512gb in that price one year ago

Oh

Good price! Is it easy to fit into a MacBook Pro?

Is that ps4 compatible

Just because it's "the cheapest it's ever been" (until next week) does not make shelling out £300 for just 1Tb (actually 930Gb) a good deal.

probly not that long, tho ofc they wouldn't use big ones, maybe mid range 120gb ones, tho really that about all most users need in SSD size

It would be much cheaper to buy a 64Gb or 128Gb SSD to install operating system and programs on to and then get a regular HDD or external drive to store large data.

Titanfall game for pc is 50 gb alone before any dlc. The battlefield games 3 and 4 are huge too, meaning normal ssd drives get too small fast. Add to that many other steam games and my drive is too small.

*) I am aware that I can move games to another drive by using mklink and creating a junction link, but that means moving it to a slower drive. In modern mp games, getting to the battlefield fast can be an advantage

I bought this drive 5 days ago when it was £3.19, does anyone know if amazon will refund me the difference? if so, how do I go about it?

Yeah just sellotape the other drive to the back of the laptop screen and you'll hardly notice the diff

Heat for the price. Not that I need this big SSD and be willing to sacrifice £300. I am quite happy with my EVO 840 250GB SSD for £82.99 Received it and installed yesterday straight away to discover the huge improvement in my laptop's performance. The 1TB one might be suitable for a few, tho.

Amazing price, though my computer isn't worth sinking another £300 into... and I only need enough memory for my OS and Photoshop etc.
Got the £83 Evo 250 desktop kit too, still waiting for them to dispatch... 3 weeks later.

D'oh! I meant £319.
Does anyone know if amazon will refund me the difference? How do I go about it?

Just noticed on Amazon of this price i'm getting itchy fingers, would love to get one but it would be for my desk top pc, and i already have a WD 1TB raptor as boot, and to drop 299 pound on a small boot speed upgrade i'm not sure.

Go to help on the bottom right of the Amazon home page, then the 'contact us' button on the right of the next page, then it gives you the option of linking your query with the specific order and gives you options for contacting them. Just use the email option and explain the situation, they'll refund the difference.

I missed it too -Drat (_;)

£273 from amazon.de if you have a fee free card for euro transactions

I doubt you'll get much joy of Amazon as these are falling in price all the time -as the graph shows . It'll be cheaper again next week and wont go up -so its a question of which price you're willing to dive in at .

Will this fit in a MacBook Pro?

Not necessarily as they are under no obligation to do so but but its worth a try. I think it depends on who you get to talk to at the time and how regular a customer you are.

They'll definitely refund the difference if it's within 5 days. 100%.

Managed to grab a new sealed one for £230 and was half expecting a 500GB version to arrive but it was the 1TB; happy days.

Where from? If you did get it for £230 why didn't you post it as a deal?

Good price I guess they are making way for the 850 EVO which is due soon.

I'm struggling to find one.

Don't forget flubit folks.

I bought one of these a month or so ago for £320. Its in my macbook pro and is absolutely brilliant. NEver seen it drop below £300 so great buy.

I second the opinion that this size SSD is very rarely needed and you'd be better off buying either two drives (if your machine supports it) or a hybrid drive (part SSD, part HDD). Yeah, it's a good price but it's 'value' is questionable.
