Cheapest its been for a long time. Bite or not to Bite is the question

Decent price but you should make it clear that its not Amazon who are selling it - it's being "Fulfilled by Amazon" on behalf of the seller, "TB ENTERPRISES INTERNATIONAL LLC" and the difference is, the guarantee etc.

The trouble with this deal is you can get a free copy of Assassins Creed Origins with a Samsung ssd or a M.2 purchase almost on every other site instead. This may go cold op

I just had a quick look for an Assassins Creed deal with not must luck, any chance you can point one out please?

Note its £149.99 direct from Amazon but £139 from two other sellers on Amazon (but fulfilled by Amazon).

I'd rather pay an extra £10 and buy it from a retailer, you get the warranty plus AC Origins.

not cheap at all, was already cheaper on many occasions this year32277332-2wNQR.jpg

Holding for black friday, surely ssd are something discounted by Amazon

2 years ago, I bought the 1TB model of this for £185 -- just making a point of how some parts of IT hardware (and this goes for RAM and graphics cards as well) have gone up rather than decreased. There is no certainty that things get cheaper as time goes by.

Ordered mine from Novatech. I paid just under £155 for 500gb but they specifically list the assassins creed deal so i didn't mind paying that little extra.

I bought this SSD for £90.99 from Amazon on 20th Nov 2015 (Black Friday deal maybe?)

Doubt this year's BF SSD deals will be as good but worth holding out for another month I think

DRAM prices have gone up significantly since then due to shortage. None of the manufacturers want to increase supplies as it lowers the price.

True, though neither is an ideal long-term solution, particularly for desktops with multiple drives.
M.2. needs slots and SATA is stagnant and capped out on read/write speeds (where on earth is SATA 4?).

High capacity drives are painfully expensive these days so there's a massive conflict of interest for consumers.

Same exacte date and price for me too. Crazy how prices have hiked!

SATA '4' has basically been here for years in the form of SATA Express. It's has basically no adoption at all though.

For most use cases a SATA 3 drive is still quite fine though. NVMe drives are much faster at file copy, but on application loads there almost no difference at all (because they are often CPU/RAM limited)

Why does it matter if it uses a slot or a port? Equally as convenient for me TBH.

Yes, remember any new IT stuff sourced from abroad became more expensive overnight when the pound collapsed over the Brexit announcement. Apple and Dell prices have gone up around 10 per cent apparently.

I decided to go to the second hand market for these, but I went for a the PRO range that are built to last ten years (EVO is still good at five years). You can get 1tb on ebay for around £200-£220 if you bid in auctions rather than buy it now.

500gb too?

Yep - I purchased one when it was at this price. Wish I had got more, but it was 1 per account I believe. If only I knew they were going to rise so high in price the next two years.

Made such a difference for load time for windows, game, apps etc!

Wow thats a great price! I spent 150 for one of them like 3 weeks ago!

It's worth it even at £150. Probably the best upgrade I've done to be honest. It made that much of a difference.

Plus they don't take up much space and are more reliable as they have no moving parts!

You say that, but I've yet to see a review that actually shows that.

How are you basing that?

Mum told him

I paid £109 for this model. So why is £139 a deal?

When did you pay £109? If the answer is 6-18 months ago, there is your answer.

This is a good price for people wanting the drive and those who don't posses a time machine.

Have you looked?

I upgraded from a standard Samsung SATA SSD (same one in this deal) to a 960 m.2 and games load noticeably faster, about twice as fast.

This is a great deal for the price but I personally wouldn't go back to a SATA for my main drive.

I don't buy it.

Have you watched some side by side load videos?

Not even a second faster in anything.
I watched your video and it doesn't show any faster load times either.

Here's yet another one.

Tons of videos find the same results.

You do get windows a bit faster, but hey, 6 seconds 9 seconds...

In my video Steve's test shows CoD load in 11 seconds vs 25 seconds for the SATA drive.

But anyway I notice it opening apps and so forth, I guess it will also depend on speed of RAM and other components as there will be a bottleneck somewhere.
