Despite the fact that nearly every 500gb ssd is around £120 to £160, and will be for at least another quarter, this is a good price currently for the 850 evo.

Barring the 850 pro, this is probably the fastest sata 6gbits ssd out there, (the sandisk extreme can better it - but try finding one).

Well, I've seen Brexit blamed for a lot of things but not SSD prices … Well, I've seen Brexit blamed for a lot of things but not SSD prices (until now!) X)

at 23/6/16 the pound to dollar was 1.49. today its 1.29
20p difference

Earlier this month it was nearly 30p difference? - want to not blame brexit ..

Brexit is price inflationary..
Brexit allows us be more prone to price shocks.

This is not my deal - but the one posted by @taras which should not have been expired.

The mods are welcome to delete this one after unexpiring that one.

shame that the mods won't unexpire mine ..

Amazon did put the price back up for about 20 mins and then put it back down..

@spedley yes you could get the 850 evo at that price a year ago. then brexit, and also fabs going to higher density and from 2d to 3d caused many fabs to loose capacity.. a chip takes about 3 months to make!!...then packaged to 4 to 5 months delay ..

How is that relevant?

So the 250Gb version @ £82 gets voted to 71 heat*
- £0.328 per Gb

But the 500Gb version @ £134 only reaches 33 heat ?
- £0.268 per Gb

I think people are voting hot/cold on their personal budget rather than the value.
