Great price for this SSD, over £200 elsewhere. Note it's the PRO version not the EVO.

Amazon have the 500GB 850 EVO at £138, so roughly the same price per GB but the PRO has marginally better performance and the bonus of a 10 year warranty.

Great deal, just bought it - THANKS - hot, hot, hot.

this is hot, if you do need a sata based sdd this year, buy this as its the best sata ssd you can buy and b) the 850 evo/pro in some capacities are EOL..

wow, fantastic deal. Cheapest it's ever been according to the three camels

What are the ssd types and where does this fall in? Is it all about read and write speeds that make one better over another?

Thanks, great deal! Been looking for this at a reasonable price for a while.

On scans websites its over 200 so I am guessing that's a price error.

There is basically two type of SSD, one with Sata(the one HDD use) and PCIE(M.2). this is Sata. Read and write speed different doesnt really make much a different in real life use. so better just to get the cheapest unles you have the money

That's what I assumed when I first saw the price on Amazon (and double checked the Scan site), but my order was accepted and despatched. DPD have it due for delivery tomorrow.

slightly wrong but good enough..

SSD prices have remained stubbornly high. I bought the 1tb evo version of this in July 2015 for £220. I had hoped that prices would be significantly lower by now. However, this is a cracking price compared to other current options.

I am having the same issue, I bought the 512gb version for £115 in October 2015

Thanks for this! Heat.

Yes, read and write speeds supported by the interface between the SSD and the host PC, with M.2 (PCI-E) being better than SATA. Power consumption, sequential read and write, random read and write, latency, all of these are better over PCI-E than SATA.

I've received a dispatch note from Amazon I however also received an invoice from Scan which states a 256GB drive, so I've asked to clarify this. Hopefully they've sent the correct drive!

Is it being honoured, I missed the boat 😪

My order has been dispatched but looks like they're sending the 256GB version not 500GB.

From the invoice they've sent me.

Mine says the same, will be going straight back if that's what they've sent.

I have had my order dispatched and can also confirm that the SCAN invoice is for a 256GB drive so not very happy if they won't honour this

Yeah same, interesting day ahead tomorrow! Please update with what you get as I won't be home to open the item until late tomorrow. Hope it all works out for us but sounds a bit ominous.

If it does turn out to be 256gb, Scam will put the blame on Amazon. Any screenshots of the listing?

Strange thing, it was at DPD depot ready for delivery today, then SCAN requested DPD for the item to be returned to sendert WTF???

Mine was the same, but go directly to DPD website and enter the tracking number and you'll see if your delivery is still on...
Edited by: "nw104hh" 8th Nov

My latest update on it also shows as return to consignor. Time for delivery is supposed to be around midday so I guess we'll see if anything turns up then.

Because I thought once it will be delivered, you'll be able to tell us good news - it's 512GB

Scan simply emailed me order update and then dispatch note of 256GB version instead. Wish they could at least communicate about the error and cancelled the order.

I still haven't heard anything, never turned up at the time said by DPD (which was obvious) but you'd think Scan would at least send an update on the order considering they recalled the arranged delivery of it. Hopefully they've done it because they've realised they've sent the wrong ones out and are going to send the right drives but I'm not holding my breath on that one

Thats shocking really, its bad enough for the orders to be sent out wrong and be recalled but you have to go through the extra crap of RTM etc. There have been no comms, I know that we all get the chance to take advantage of misprices (always with the risk that it doesnt come off) and great deals on this website but a big company like scan ( via amazon should just be sending out the correct item to those that managed to get an order in. It wasn't exactly deal of the century or anything. Just rubbish customer service. Best recent example of great customer service recently I had was for a Orzy switch case and accessory bundle. They honoured the deal and sent out an accompanying letter with the order, you can see this here hotukdeals.com/com…629 . That's customer service and I bet they don't have the financial resource that scan does. All said and done though hotukdeals is the BEST website, couldn't live without it now!
