I would pay the extra and get and Evo...the qvo have much lower read/write life span.
Gone are the days of a £1 per GB 🔥

For a game storage drive that isn't much of a concern, wouldn't use as a boot drive or for high usage workloads, but realistically for most consumers the savings worth it.
Good price, while I vote hot I'm I'm suprised ebuyer has not gone burst yet

Personally I'd go with the EVO. It's been around £95-100 a few times in the last month and comes with a 5 year warranty as apposed to 3 with the qvo. For the extra £13-18 you get a substantially longer warranty, better performance/quality and almost twice as much rated data transfer to disk ....

I know which one I'd choose even if it's just for storage.

My EVO was full so thought I'd treat myself with this as it's fantastic value, just using them on my xbox as externals for speedier loading times and its just as fast at loading as the EVO, well pleased.

By the time it's worn out there'll be something new along anyway lol.

The best deals on these atm is on the 4TB version which I bought today to use as a steam game drive in my laptop. I agree with the other posters that the 1TB version of the QVO drive isn't the best choice.

They're fast enough for the vast majority of users/gamers. The main drawback of these QVO drives is write endurance(longevity) as stated before, but even that is still probably not a big concern unless you're filling it up and swapping data out frequently on it.

One other thing to consider for gamers is that new consoles are coming with NVMe drives as standard and the console manufacturers and developers have talked about how they will be(or at least can be) used for a lot more than just improving loading screen times - and could be leveraged for much more rapid asset streaming. Meaning proper next-gen games(ones not held back by cross gen or anything) could start to *require* an NVMe SSD in order to run properly, where even a SATA SSD is just not quick enough.

This is all theoretical at the moment, but I'd say is quite likely to happen and if you have a motherboard with NVMe slots, it might be well worth spending a bit more on one of those instead of this, at least if you plan on using it as a gaming drive. For something like mass storage of video/pictures/music or whatever, this SATA SSD would be perfect.
Asenno SSD 1tb for 67 on amazon uk / fr . i know its a no name brand sort of but they provide 3 year warranty.
Amazon have them for 82.91 now
Good price, but remember this is a QLC drive. It has a much shorter lifespan compared to other SSD's and you are more likely to see frequent speed drops (albeit it will still be faster than a standard hard drive). For this reason, usually, the recommendation for QLC drives is to have them as secondary storage drives and not as your primary boot drive.
