Stay away from this drive. It's not worth the money. (unless its less than £70)
For this kind of money look out for Crucial MX500 2TB, often the drive drops less than £120.

I purchased this model 'Samsung 870 QVO 2TB (MZ-77Q2T0)' during BF 2021 for the same money.
    Worse investment, I regret buying.

When writing to the drive, the temperature easily exceeds 70’c during prolong write task.
To the point the write speed drops below 90MB/s, even tanking low as 20MB/s.
Let the drive cool down, and it's peforming above 150MB/s.

Samsung Magician software reports no issues, and no new firmware.

The purpose of this SSD was to remain in a USB 3.0 external enclosure for fast data transfer between systems.

Samsung SSD is worse than Kingston A400 series drives.

Further tests proved even Patriot P210 2TB (significantly cheaper), in the same USB 3.0 enclosure it out performed 'Samsung 870 QVO 2TB’ under sustained write.

Burst write speed for Samsung and Patriot were neck and neck.

Under heavy sustained write task, shifting around 50GB data, Patriot P210 2TB out performed Samsung 870 QVO 2TB.

Patriot P210 2TB under heavy sustained write of 50GB files (1GB to 2GB files), it managed around 210MB/s, lowest.

Samsung 870 QVO 2TB would fall below 130MB/s, no better than a mechanical drive.

Most people would notice any difference between the Evo and qvo. It's not an nvme, sure, but it's a good capacity upgrade.
Unless your transferring tons of sequential files all the time this drive will be absolutely fine.

    >>>>>Looks like a bargain for this SSD.

I track some SSD prices and this SSD was actually priced at £116.95 back in November 2021

Of course Samsung QVO drives are always cheaper than the better Samsung EVO drives.

We need to see 2TB SSD drives come under £100.

Does it actually cost more to make an SSD than a spinning hard disk? You can buy a 2TB spinning hard drive for less than £50.
