The Samsung 970 EVO is fast. The Samsung 970 EVO Plus is even faster. It has read/write speeds of up 3,500/3,300MB/s. It’s an industry leading performance. If you’re a PC builder, gamer or power user you need a 970 EVO Plus in your life.

Upgrade your PC or workstation with the newest addition to Samsung’s powerful range of SSDs. Available in capacities ranging from 250GB to a massive 2TB. The drive on this page is 500GB.
*1GB=1,000,000,000 bytes by IDEMA/ A certain portion of capacity may be used for system file and maintenance use, so the actual capacity may differ from what is indicated on the product label.

Unbeatable performance
Speed counts. And the 500GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus is seriously fast. Guaranteed.

Firmware optimisation combined with the Phoenix controller and intelligent TurboWrite boost sees this SSD delivering unrivalled results. Superfast read/write speeds of up 3,500/3,300MB/s blow away any other SSD in its class. Unbelievably, it’s also 50% faster than the 970 EVO.
*Performances may vary depending on SSD’s firmware version and system hardware & configuration. Performance measurements based on IOmeter 1.1.0. The write performances were measured with Intelligent TurboWrite technology being activated. The sequential write performances after Intelligent TurboWrite region are: 400 MB/s(250GB), 900 MB/s(500GB), 1,700 MB/s(1TB) and 1,750 MB/s(2TB).* Test system configuration: Intel Core i7-7700K CPU @4.2GHz, DDR4 2400MHz 32GB, OS-Windows 10 Built 10240, Chipset–ASUS PRIME Z270-A.*Up to 53 percent performance increase for sequential write speed for 250GB version.

Advanced encryption
Data security is as important as speed. And the 970 EVO Plus has multiple security features including Self-Encrypting Drive technology. And AES 256-bit hardware encryption is provided as standard. Your data is safe with Samsung.

Reliability built in
Reliability is massive for any SSD. And thanks to the latest V-NAND technology the Samsung 970 EVO Plus delivers. It has far greater endurance than the industry standard. The secret is its nickel-coated controller. This dissipates heat faster even during the most intensive use. The SSD also has Dynamic Thermal Guard technology. This prevents overheating and boosts performance.

With Samsung you know you’re getting reliability built in. But just in case you need any further reassurance. Your 500GB 970 EVO Plus has an awesome five year warranty.

It’s magical
Your new 970 RVO Plus includes advanced management tools. Samsung Magician software provides an instant overview of critical information. The user-friendly tools enable you keep settings, drivers and firmware right up to date. By using the Magician software you’re able to monitor and optimise performance and check the health of your SSD.

Is it really that much faster than a traditional SSD? At almost twice the price.
Startup times will be fractionally faster.
Anything that caches to HD will be faster
For an existing pc you will probably need an adapter
Better image
It's an excellent SSD, but for 110 you get Sabrent Rocket 1TB, which is also great.

They can be up to 10x faster than a normal SSD in some tests. Whether or not you need something 10x faster than an SSD is a different question...
Newer motherboards will usually have 2+ slots for this type of drive, some will even have built-in heat sinks for these M.2 drives (as they can get pretty warm!).
For joe blogs user you wont see a difference really.

You can just about tell the difference in boot time between a normal ssd and this.

You really need an IO intensive task to see the difference.
Difficult to justify the price tag when compare to Sabrent Rocket
Faster in benchmarks and linear transfers only really. Practically all games get no where near the limit of a SATA SSD as it's mostly random reads and uncompressing data to RAM. Hence why games generally only load in half the time compared to an HDD, despite a regular SSD still being miles faster than a mechanical drive and having much faster random reads.

Basically if it's for games, NVMe SSD's aren't really necessary over SATA SSD.
Nice deal. Heat added
Theoretically faster , in practice very little difference in programs and gaming , and not worth the extra cost.
When prices for these eventually drop and other PC components/programs can actually take advantage then the takeup/upgrade will be beneficial.
