Sorry to the Author, but actually posts like this might help people understand whats going on, its like everyone in the USA has turned into a zombie, but people ar still selling holidays there!

I bought 2 980 Pro’s in NOV 22, and was just about to start my PC build when this all kicked off last week, the worst part is samsung are being absolutely silent about it, apart from claiming its a firmware bug, and upgrade to the latest one to fix it,

I have now had to buy a 2TB WD sn850x to cover these 2 drives off, and see how they go, they cost me over £500 new, will be gutted if the latest firmware doesnt fix this problem ,

people please DO NOT buy these drives until all this mess is sorted, i just fear there is a bigger issue than just firmware and samsung dont want to start a mad panic

Wrong thread. This deal is for the 990 Pro which has just had a firmware update to fix the underlying issue.

Your 980 Pro had a fix in a firmware update released over a year ago, but it wasn’t (pre)installed on a lot of drives sold in the past year. (edited)
