Samsung A70 for £369 + £60 cash back and £150 trade in old android phone at Samsung

Posted 21st May

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Samsung is running up to £150 off for A series phones. If you have an old working android phone to trade in or maybe you can get one cheap from CEX to use the £100 discount which brings the phone down to £269. all you need to enter is the IMEI Number to check straight away that discount gets applied. Once you receive the phone. It will contain the prepaid postage to send your old phone.
They are also doing £60 cash back on these devices.
I just ordered one for my self. Paid £269 and will be filling the form for the cash back once received. So hopefully it will come down to £209 for 128gb Samsung A70.
Hope this helps.

Sort of a dupe of the fantastic @Mrswitch 's thread HERE.

But I hold in my hand an A70, thanks to the advice of @rev6 and mrswitch, with the prepaid return envelope for the trade-in.

(For me, a depressingly brand new Alcatel U3 from Asda for £30. I couldn't find the Sony I was going to trade in, and my venerable Swift 2 Plus camera died over the weekend.)

Effective trade-in discount of £70.

Just about to start the cashback process for an additional £60 cashback.

Dunno if it still tracks, but when I ordered via Quidco it said another £8 and I think rev6 said it stacks fine.

Super happy, although I'd underestimated just how flippin' HUGE this thing is compared to other phones I've used. I got a clear case so the weird oily iridescence looks sweet through it, and it's a monster of a screen. It looks like it could eat my Swift 2 Plus like I eat a pizza.

Loving the SIM+SIM+MicroSD setup. Three contract for unlimited data, Giffgaff for my number and network redundancy (O2 based), and a 64GB fast MicroSD to compliment the onboard.

After figuring out how to tell Netflix to letterbox instead of filling (pinch to zoom), I'm over the moon with it.

It's vastly closer to a flagship than any other Android phone I've ever owned. I normally go for low-mid range, and this is definitely high-mid range. Ridiculous bargain.

Edit: (Some of these will be late at night, for example the phone was ordered at about 22:30 on 18th...)
Ordered 18th May,
Dispatch 19th May,
Delivered 20th May.

Raised Cashback Blue thingy 21 May, didn't automatically process initially despite using the Samsung invoice PDF, but was accepted via email very quickly later that night.

Sent Trade-in device 23rd May,
Royal Mail say delivered 28th May,
Trade-In completed 6th June.

EDIT 2 - Cashback received 12th June!

Record the same thumb 3 times. Rolling your thumb slightly to unlock it makes it vastly more reliable at unlocking.
I can't find which user posted that advice, but thank you, it's a huge improvement.

Any examples of used phones that can be used for cashback?

The prepaid postage bag to send your old phone back comes separately to your new phone.
Just in the process of really.considering one.of.these...any user experiences...very tempted with this deal...Hot from.me....🌞🌵🌋
Would a cracked back glass Samsung S7 will be accepted?

I sent in a £10 bought from Tesco three years ago from HTC and got the £100 no problem.
Hot indeed
I like the look of the A50 for 'potentially' £159!

It will be accepted but you will be charged for that. If screen damaged it is £100 charge, but they don't say about how much exactly for the back. Easier to repair it for £20 and then send it to Samsung.
This is a no brainer for me, my last Nexus died on the last day of the warranty and I got a full refund. The replacement Samsung A6 has been faultless but the 2 year warranty is up and I'm sure my old HTC desire is in the kitchen drawer somewhere. My wife is going to chuffed to bits with her 'new' A6!

*Edit: I'm a bit confused looking at the T's&C's: "It must only have normal wear and tear -there must be no damage or blemishes to screen/LCD" I understand they don't want cracked screens but how is an old phone not going to have the odd scratch/blemish on the screen?

You can phone the people who assess the trade-ins on 0333 2079676 Mon-Fri 9-5. I was told that a scratch on the screen is treated as normal wear and tear but a chipped or cracked screen would not be acceptable.

This is an amazing deal. My A70 arrived yesterday and I’m very happy with it. BTW I posted this deal a couple of days ago but it got pulled by the mods because it was apparently a duplicate of another deal already posted.

No problem buddy, not to depress you, and if I had of realised you were already with giffgaff, then you could have bought this for £19

I didn't know I'd be buying a phone for the trade-in, until the last minute. Somewhere I have an old Sony I inherited that I'd intended using. Think I can find it now though?

And as my Swift2+'s camera suddenly stopped working, I dropped everything and grabbed the first sub-£35 phone I could find in person.

I couldn't have waited around for Giffgaff to ship the U3, then get the IMEI for the trade in, because I can't be without a working phone for any longer.

The U3 oddly impressed me for a £30 phone, and for £19 it's madness. Tempted to keep one in the car at that price!
As this was going to be a snap purchase I wanted to take advantage of the 0% through PayPal so I wouldn't even notice it, PayPal are declining it though? I have an excellent credit score, linked cards and loads of activity/history with PayPal so god knows why, anyone else had issues with this?

I ordered using PayPal credit and it worked for me.

I can't advise on the A70 but I have the honor play it's a brilliant phone but if you are going through cash back and trade in it makes these 2 roughly the same money and because of that I would go for the Samsung for the screen and camera
Wonder if they’ll accept this. Cheapest I’ve seen in CEX

I don't know if you watched the news at all in the last few days, but it's a brave (probably bad) option to be buying Huawei/Honor right now.

I'd be looking looking at the Samsung (Korean) rather the Chinese.

The A70 is a good, solid all-round phone. Battery life is excellent....two-ish days...and the screen is great. The letdown is the dreadful onscreen fingerprint sensor.Takes ages (well, a couple of seconds) to recognise a print and a lot of the time doesn't recognise it at all.
But...face recognition is fast. I use it with a smartwatch and autounlock.
Thanks for this. Really tempted to move back to Android and my 5s is accepted at trade in. Anyone know how long it takes to arrive from ordering and how long do you have to post off the trade in device. Can’t see an answer on their site. Thanks.

They provide free next day delivery. My order took 2 days as I placed it late night. I placed on 20th May and the phone arrived on 22nd by DPD. It shows you delivery options on checkout.

You will have 14 days to send trade in device once you received their return envelope.
Great. Thanks. Another couple of questions, sorry. If you trade in and don’t like the a70 can you get your old phone back? And do they send the trade in envelope the same day as the phone? I’m going on holiday and would ideally like to export all the stuff on my iPhone before I send it off.

Yes you will receive your trade in phone back within 14 days after they will receive (and assess) the returning handset from you. I would strongly recommend to make as much pictures as possible of your trade in device before sending it to them and record IMEI and serial number just in case.
Great advice. Thanks all. Will order today.

Cool, ordered yesterday afternoon and it will be delivered around 2pm today, by dpd. Excellent communications all the way.
Received yesterday. An awesome phone. It has a screen protector applied already - saves me a few quid and effort. But it didn't come with jelly case that I've seen from youtube unboxing videos. Samsung UK for some reason usually skips that. Annoyed...
Thanks op ordered, traded in my wife's s7 edge knocked 150 off and with cb looking at £159. I'll give her my xaomi mi 8 which is a huge upgrade to her s7.

So I have an ancient Moto Razr i XT890 from 2013, sitting in my drawer, completely pristine - battery working fine.

Are you telling me that I can send this in, get £100 quid off and cashback too? Sounds too good to be true.

Edit - running Android 4.1.2 lol

P.s. the A50 seems to make more sense for £159 doing this method, surely it's a bargain at that price
