Looks like they're starting to give away Windows phones!

Ist das ein guter Preis? Welches Netzwerk auf? Haben Sie Deutsch sprechen die ganze Zeit?

Yes, exactly. Some may argue that the high end Nokias (920, 925, 1020) are better but they don't take micro sd cards. Advantages of Nokia is the camera quality and some exclusive apps, although the most useful Nokia-made apps are now available to all: Drive, Maps, and Transit.

Good price

I recall you set location when you turn on for the first time, which might in turn change the language once set to the UK. Otherwise you'd have to go into settings to change the language.

Questions:

1. can you switch off haptic feedback if it has it?

2. are the whites dull like the Android Galaxy range?

3. is the music playback any good? (coming from iphone)

Can you log into amazon.de with your UK amazon details? And are there any taxes to pay?

!/ Try it.
2/ We are in the EU.

I bought a new one from eBay for £180 with 16GB micro SD. I had a play, hated it & sold it to CEX for a profit & I got to keep the memory card. I really didn't like Windows mobile & I had wanted to try it for ages. I wouldn't waste your money.

This is a lot of phone for the money. Especially when you compare it to something like the S3 Mini which is in the same price range. Heat added!

Does it have HDMI/MHL out?

Was ist das verdammte Scheiße? wird diese verdammt Hot Deals Deutsch?

Easy enough to log in and get all the way to checkout on the german site - according to todays Mastercard rate (my chosen method of payment on Amazon), it is slightly better to pay pay in Euro's as it works out around £178, unless I'm missing some other hidden tax or something.

Everything British such as its cars are now German. Now even UK websites

Hows windows phone doing as an OS, I really liked my w7.5 phone but lack of apps and the cost of those that were there made me switch to andriod

Can this be hacked to run Android?

I've spent about £20 tops on games and apps since I started using WP almost three years ago. So the cost of apps is hardly, to me at least, a deal breaker.

I love Windows Phone. Sure it has a few shortcomings but in general terms it is really fast, fluid, simple to use and dependable. There are no apps that I need that aren't there. Even the delay in getting any sort of iPlayer app (shame on you BBC and your dreadful Apple bias) basically made me re-evaluate the type of media I was looking at and effectively move away from the BBC for a lot of my news and other content - and you know what? I don't particularly miss it. Instead, I found alternatives, such as the excellent UCBrowser which lets me download and save video content from wherever, or the likes of Supertube and the other excellent third party Youtube apps which likewise do a great job.

Depends on what their rate of exchange is .

Can you get an English translation on the website ? Will the warranty still be valid in the UK ?

HOT HOT HOT

Just ordered x2 of these which I needed for the kids, didn't cost any extra postage for the second one so this is an unbelievable deal - Samsung's international 2 year warranty as standard.

By the way OP, if you paid in Euros, by today's exchange rate it works out as £178 delivered!

Use the Google Chrome browser and it will automatically translate. Samsung's 2 year no quibble warranty means you should be sorted

I've ordered a few phones from Amazon.de never had any issues using my UK account not taxes to pay. Once I sent a phone back, item got lost by the courier and Amazon.de refunded me after they made me sign a statutory declaration. Customer services are good too.

1) No haptic feedback
2) Not sure, have a Lumia
3) Xbox music (default app) works well enough, but you can't create playlists on it which I find annoying.

I would say yes because I asked the same question when I brought the Samsung Ativ. The majority of Windows 8 phones have fixed memory. I've got a 64GB card in my one.

Good phone, the battery times are great. Did a one day trip to Europe recently. Played two 720p films, listened to music, surf the web and used Google maps whilst in France. Still had 25% battery time left. Compared to my Blackberry Z10 which again I took to Europe, the damn phone didn't even last the trip out to Europe let alone the return journey!

My opinion the Samsung is a great phone. Yes the App store isn't like Apple and Google stores but has the main apps.

Also worth point out the Samsung has the memory capacity to play the high demanding games. There are quite a bit of Windows phones which don't have the memory.

Worth also mentioning Microsoft will be dropping Windows 8 Mobile next year for the next generation of OS.

Crap. Still hardly any apps and if they do have what your looking for, you have to pay for it. I only recently got a w8 phone and I'm busy trawling every phone deal looking for a new android phone.

If you like apps stay with DROID.

I have this phone. Love it. Yes you can turn off haptic feedback or leave it on.

Fully aware! I suppose when I said I took my chances I meant I made a calculated decision. And best to use a card that doesn't add a fee to foreign transaction charges so you just pay the flat MC/VISA exchange rate.

You can in fact create playlists. See windowsphone.com/en-…ist.

Hot! New phone for just a few quid more than the recycle value.

Got mine from Expansys a few months ago and still loving it.

Does all i need... used the Nokia Apps without an issue where needed too

Only minor point is that its a bit plasticy [as opposed to my previous Samsung Omnia 7 - built like a brick lol glass is still scuff and scratch free but now retired alas, but i digress...] the back plate itself especially, but regardless, i've had no probs with it really.

For some reason, I cant get over the air updates for the updates (the expansys one was a SIM free one like this) and still cant seem to get it to appear over wifi or even using the mobile (Three) network, but maybe i'm just unlucky or something.... Samsung's own site points to using their Kies application, that alas doesnt recognise the phone in any shape or form for me lol

Aside from the lack of bother by Samsung (very annoying considering the WP7 phone had the updates fine) with this, i love it... camera is soooo much better than on my WP7 phone by them (i know i know, its not as awesome as the Nokia blah blah blah... but it does me fine).

In short, getting it this way saved me from lengthy inflated contract prices (not that Three offered this phone, and i wouldnt have got a 920 for what i was paying i wager) but yes, i digress somewhat....

I'm not big on loads of apps (im not that bored) but all i was after is pretty much there - aside from an official Steam client from Valve (yes Valve, theres load of sense boycotting making it for WP when you have such a user base using it on Windows Desktop OS'.... #facepalm) and one other thing that i've forgotten about.

Anyhow, its a great price for a great phone IMO and you could do a heck of a lot worse than one of these bad boys.

And brief blast on the UCBrowser app was really impressive to show what can be done with a bit of effort (MS, why havent you made IE on it as useful as that lol).

Learn something new every day, thanks!

This really Hot HOT. Amazing AMOLED screen, high quality components. This is a real £400 phone for half price, because of Windows.

I was fiddling with it in a shop thinking I might get it from amazon.de, but decided against it for now. Not too much difference performance wise to my samsung galaxy note apart from the better OS.

bah!! ordered.

great price and will serve me for a canny while.

cheers OP

Price has fallen to 201 euro's, nice!
