I don't see the point when they universally come with rubbish tinny speakers... that B2430H doesn't even have any either from what I can see. A HDMI to DVI adapter will save you £35 in this case.Voted hot btw :)Link

HDMI is an easy way to connect a games console to the monitor. Also, as the cable carries audio, you don't have to worry about getting separate audio leads from the console to the speakers (as long as the monitor has a headphone port).

HDMI would guarantee some sort of audio out. Whether it be speakers or a 3.5mm jack.
That's the good thing about the HDMI standard.
If all you'd use this monitor for is with a PC, DVI is perfect.
But for a games console, I'd go for one with HDMI just for ease of compatibility.

Lovely seeing these 24" monitors coming right down in price. Making way for the LED and 3D models.

I'm still getting tempted by these deals but still holding out for a x1200 24 incher.

I'm making voodoo dolls for everyone that moans about speakers and hdmi on PC Monitors from now on. Anyone using their monitors speakers should stop being silly right now and treat your ears to a set of stereo (oooh won't that be special) speakers, wait a while before going for surround sound as the shock might be too much for you.

I really want to see this next to Samsung P2450H to see how it compairs in colour/picture.
It's a worse frame and not true 24" (23.6" is not 24) but great price. I'm going to scan through reviews to see if it's worse than P2450H then order.

Bit of a comparison. If I get my liquid crystal ball out I can see through the volumetric mist that the p24 is possibly the same screen but has a faster response time, but wait, its going, bitmap cloudy, its gone.

Hope you get the best one for you. I'd go for the P24's true 24" slab

Gone up to £141.58. And yes, I went on today only.

I phoned Samsung up, and they said it was a faulty product, so I sorted out a replacement, but the second monitor had exactly the same issue. So I guess it's a design flaw.

Almost silent at first, after a few weeks I could hear it from anywhere around the flat. It's not loud, but once you spent an hour or more in front of the monitor it gets in your head.

Might have to give this a miss for that reason

I have the same problem on my Samsung SyncMaster P2350 monitor. I have the monitor for over 2 years but it really doesn't matter to me because you have to really pay attention to it or in a very quiet room only you able to hear the high pitch noise. Most of the time my speakers and computer are making much more noise than this

For another £16 you can have HDMI, oh and a TV Tuner with 2 x 5W speakers

I just received this in the morning. As usual, Samsung monitor is top quality! No dead pixels found. I'm very happy with it.
