I guess it does not come with warranty!

Unfortunately their guarantee is only for USB, no guarantee of your Data, in terms of disk failure they will replace it but you will end up loosing all data, I am not voting hot or cold, just making a point with storage media guarantee and my personal grievance with them, I have been bitten by Samsung brand 3'times with 3 different items.

this is higher than normal price on amazon.

Cold.

Check camelcamelcamel.

It does, warranty is with Samsung, not the reseller.

cold, cheaper elsewhere.

Yes. As long as people believe what they read in the Metro they'll believe the prices at Currys are reasonable

Do any brands support data recovery ?

HDDs have had this policy for a long time... not to mention computer, laptop, tablet and phone manufacturers.

When your Marketing Dept can't actually think up an imaginative, snazzy name for a USB stick : just call it a bar.

Not compatible with Linux?

This is a fault of the technology, not Samsung. You won't find any other vendor guaranteeing your data on USB sticks. Always keep backups on an alternative form of media - e.g. Hard disk, cloud, tape, etc.

how it works is irrelevant as the warranty isn't with them anyway

The 5 years warranty is from Samsung, not Currys.

Any distributor should have the 5 years.

Sigh, it's not a Memory Stick. It's a USB thumb drive.

Had one of these and it's just stopped working. Is there anyway to get it replaced?

Yes,almost everything you buy comes with 12 months warranty.
contact the retailer you bought it from.
Or contact Samsung themselves.
they will either replace it ir refund you.
you will however need to provide receipt or purchase.
