Looked at buying this about 6 months ago and the cheapest I could find at the time was over £200. Seems like Argos are discontinuing selling this or Samsung are discontinuing the model. Either way, they're selling them for a lot lower than anywhere else I can find. I managed to buy the last one in my local area but a quick search this morning revealed they do have a few dotted around at other stores in UK.

I thought the XEU on the end of the model number indicated that this was the red variant which was a shame as I really wanted the black one. However, to my surprise when I opened the box it was the black one. However, the box does not mention XEU at all so I'm not sure what the deal with the colour or model number is.

Anyway, this is a fantastic Blu-Ray player that has a very quick start-up time. It's one of the best looking blu-ray players available IMO and has a tone of features. The box indicates The player supports BD Live via a USB port (you need to provide your own USB memory key). It also supports both wireless (need to purchase an optional wifi dongle that plugs into a 2nd USB port though) and wired network connections for PC streaming (supports a large number of file formats).

The box also indicates support for YouTube streaming which was a nice surprise because the Samsung webpage didn't mention this at all. Link to Samsung webpage here: samsung.com/uk/…ail

Hmm this deal doesn't seem as hot as I thought. I'd be interested to hear people's opinion on why this isn't so hot. It's a very good price for this particular model but are people voting cold because you can get blu-ray players for £60 less?

I bought this blu ray player about 3 months ago from ebay! Looks stunning and is wall mountable about 90% of the reason I bought it! Paid about £175 with delivery.

If im being honest I wish I had read reviews before I bought it, major issue I have is the HDMI output is located in a funny place so you have to have a shaerp bend in the cable which results in it coming loose! Which means im forever loosing the picture! Works fine once put back in but for the money to big a problem! Trust me i'VE TRIED ABOUT 5 DIFFERENT hdmi cables all with the same result!

I would vote neutral, but I would certainly not spend £129 on it now when u can get better players for less than £99.

Thanks for the comment and heads up about the cable. I see what you mean about the location for the HDMI port. It seems like it would pop out as well if the cable was just doing an L shape from the port; however, have you tried doing a loop in the cavity bit before it comes out of the unit. This seems much more secure and I doubt it will be popping out. Hope that makes sense but if not then give me a shout and I'll try to take some pictures.

I must admit, 90% why I bought this unit is because of it's looks. I don't think I will be mounting this on the wall but the option is nice if I change my mind in future.
