Seems a great price as lower spec models cost more. Gets pretty good reviews, there's the odd gripe about its internet connectivity but I wouldn't be using that so seems good to me.

The Panasonic DMR players seem more highly regarded but they cost £400+ and that's out of my budget.

I value your opinions and I know there's some technically savvy people on here after reading some of the dslr camera threads (!) so is this a good deal?

Thanks guys (and gals).

Thanks mate - hoping one these people who knows all about 1080i and 1080p etc will comment so I know if this is any good and worth going for!

Our Humax 9200T has stopped recording. Anyone got any views on this? Is it twin tuners, does it do DNLA?

I have also been looking at the Panasonic blu-ray recorders, so how does it compare?

I know this is single tuner - thats the main reason the Panasonic ones cost a lot more as they're twin tuners. Seems to be rated as highly for picture quality which for me would be the main thing. If you've got freeview built into your telly presumably if you're recording something you can just press AV and watch your telly's freeview.

This looks a really good deal to me built in wifi, 1080p upscaling, 500gb HDD, MKV playback, Profile 2.0, if your not bothered about having to watch the program whilst you want to record it instead of watching one program on one chanel and recording a program on another, this seems really good

Have you tried formatting the HDD. This has happened to me in the past and a full format/default reset has done the job.

rather get free sky plus and ps3 for half the price...

Isn't SKY HD box only free when you sell your soul and tie yourself into their rip off monthly fees?,if so then it's hardly a comparison and half the price?,where have you seen a new PS3 for £130? oO

Surely you can watch tv on any channel and record any chanel on this like you can on any single tuner PVR?

Surely you have to pay a subscription as well.

commiting to 12 months subscription of at least £21 a month doesn't make this cheaper....

having everything in one box is fantastic... just waiting for competing ones now to come out to drive the price down!

....HOT!

Can it pick BBC iplayer up.

No. As much as Samsung advertised this feature, it has never been released. You can get LoveFilm though.

This looks great. The only thing stopping me getting one is that I can't connect it to my old Sky box to record from that. If I could, I would order one. Hot though, can't find this less than £400 elsewhere.

Not quite, there is room for 1 more HD channel on Freeview as things stand, possibly Channel 5 or E4.

Good deal though.

But this clearly doesnt come with Satellite reception. You mentioned you wanted to pick up freesat. This one is only Freeview. Am I right?

Channel 5 have said they wont be launching a HD channel on Freeview for now. That's why BBC took up BBC One HD.

shame only single tuner otherwise i would have purchased, hot price though...

I'm tempted by this, but does anyone know if it's possible to export/copy the recordings from the built-in HDD to another storage device - e.g. a portable hard drive or a laptop?

Not really, I have had twin tuner PVR's since about 2005 (Thomson DHD4000, BT Vision , SKY HD+) - comes in really usefull to record multiple things on at the same time and is a pretty standard feature nowadays...
