This is the Wi-Fi Chromebook with2GB Ram and 16GB drive. There are over 400 mainly positive reviews for it on Amazon, and for someone who wants the convenience of a tablet (with a keyboard) and pretty much all the work potential of a laptop, this might be a good solution. I would think for students especially, its light weight, long battery life, fabulous keyboard and ability to run Google Office make it a decent choice. I was bought one for Christmas, and now hardly ever use my laptop; and it's perfect for taking on holidays because it's so easy with a keyboard and trackpad to use the Internet.

It's a saving of about £40.00 by the way

great minds think alike cash back is on the 3g model which is more expensive tho x
This is cheap. Interesting that when this first came out, I did laugh at it a bit. I mean it doesn't even run phone apps, let alone desktop software but maybe its a sign of how fast things are changing but now it's looking quite interesting. Great screen too.

I wouldn't kick one of bed for eating biscuits but I do wish it had more under the hood, it's a bit light on performance but the price tag really tells you something had to give.
Thanks for posting. I’ve added the price and merchant to the title.
Here’s a ‘Help’ link which gives tips and advice on thread posting.

Hmm normally I wouldn't give this a second glance but the price is really attractive.... Not for me, but hot
yip, really like mine, much more useful than a tablet, superfast boot up as well
find it kind of pointless buying a laptop just to use the internet , still voted hot for being the cheapest price around
Is this the one that turns into a brick once you are out of WiFi range?
Ours is great for browsing 1st thing in the morning in the kitchen! Boots up in 7s, emails and SPAM sorted within 15s

No you can use apps/data offline. Google it
I got mine for £191 a few weeks ago when it was first made hot and LOVE it! Waiting for the galaxy mini for my wife to use. This shot up to £220 for a while so great opportunity if you want one.

One thing I'll recommend is to enable developer mode in the settings. There are three choices; stable, beta and developer. With developer there are loads of new features. I have managed to make it so I can watch vids from a NAS drive (MyBookLive) and it plays mkv, avi, mp4, etc., flac, in developer mode

Are these so cheap 'cos they don't have a Shift key??? lol
You can actually put Ubuntu/Linux on these, but different chromebooks have different CPUs (intel and ARM) so the the apps it will run will also be different.
Wife has one and great for basic use. Does anyone know when Samsung will be releasing a new chromebook?
To qualify for the free Samsung Galaxy Mini phone and/or cashback, be careful that you MUST choose the "Dispatched and sold by Amazon" option. If these sell out and you choose an Amazon re-seller, you will NOT qualify for the free gifts.
Girlfriend uses one of these and it suits her needs. It's usually about £200 though, not much of a saving here!

I'd recommend getting a tablet over this though, I think she would have been better off with one- and I could have 'borrowed' it more often!
Daughter got one for Christmas. She absolutely loves hers and it is perfectly suited to her teenage needs. It is light, quick, sturdy and surprisingly well built. Plus, whilst i think Google is the digital devil, they got it right with the Chromebook. If my daughter broke hers or got it pinched, everything is autosaved in the cloud. Great idea and very well implemented. Hot.
Guys ,questions please. I bought this now. TO qualify for the samsung phone, you have to wait until 14 days. The deadline is 30th sept. Does this mean that my purchase still qualifies or have i missed out?
absolutely love my chromebook, perfect for browsing, paying bills etc super fast internet and boot up. there are down sides to it but you get what you pay for, and for the money its excellent
Somehelp with my question please ^^^
this is a cracking deal with the freebie too, voted hot
What is the model of the free phone

Love my Chromebook too! Not my main PC but great for College work and taking it on the go
so if I buy this, do I have to wait 14 days which makes it mid oct, or do I claim now to beat the end of September deadline?

cheers

What is your point? A car is also a brick once you are out of petrol, a fridge is a brick once out of electricity connection....

As I understand it from the T & C's pdf, you have to wait 14 days from the date of purchase and submit the claim form before the closing date which would mean you would've had to purchase it 14 days ago to submit the claim today...this seems crazy...I would have thought that it would have been purchases made by the 30th?
