Cartridge?

2 options.
1 Cartridges normally about £30+ each Kits about £115

2 resetter Chip about £20 (only needed once requires soldering though)then refill toners about £30 a set

As per the norm with these small colour printers only have small cartridges so low print yields 1500 black 1000 colours work out expensive on running costs

thanks for the advice newbie1001. I was quite tempted to buy one tomorrow but if what you are saying is true, I will have to re-consider it. I have been looking for a decent printer for a while now and stuggle to find one.

I've had an epson C900 for a few years now. It is a bit of a beast but the cartridges cost the same as the samsung but have a print yield of 3-4 times more since they are larger. if you want to go laser try and go midsize may take up more room but you will get better value with the toner

Something like this is a good bet

http://****.co.uk/Eps…ac4#ht_983wt_905

A bit dated but will do most the samsung will

Cartridges about £80 a set with a 4000 print yield each. When my C900 starts to ask for drums etc will look at one of these has a replacement myself

samsung 3051n mono laser cost about £50 3 years ago
hp officejet j6410 - colour inket cost about £60 3 years ago

if you have the space get 2 like me, i use a samsung mono 3051n for 90% of printing and the hp for printing colour, scanning, ocassional faxes and photo printing

both are networked

unless you need colour then id colour for a mono laser - samsung are the best cheap ones - if you can get a duplex one as this saves paper (wish i had but the duplex version of mine was £170 more!)

if you will use colour id go for an all in one - plenty of deals....hp officejet ones are usually the best....inkjets are costly to run tho compared to mono lasers...unless you need it id avoid colour lasers - very expesnive to run and few people need that quality at home

trust this samsung colour laser is dirt cheap to run for a colour laser - alot of others like hp's are £80+ per cart!

Saw this in my Currys for the same price, but ideally i need a all in one.

A word of warning here, there is a known fault with this printer (I bought one from Amazon a year ago and had to replace it), there is a chip inside which needs replacing *every* time you need a new cartridge - this was confirmed to me by Samsung. I returned mine to Amazon in disgust as it would have cost me £100 every time I needed to get new toner!

/\
This is not a fault. It`s call printer manufacturers making money after selling their printers at ridiculously cheap prices.

Samsung themselves confirmed this as a fault to me...

i have a samsung clp 300 colour laser printer, it's great ink lasts over a year for me

If you showed a Rolex on this site for £100 there would be some who complained it was very expensive. I have had the Samsung clp 300 for 3 years now with no problems. I gave up on ink jet printers, fed up of crappy quality from dried print heads etc, o.k you can buy cheap copy cartridges but that's exactly what they are(cheap copy).. This is a colour laser and a bargain and as for the comment about the fault of chipped toners. Well need i say more

i 100% agree i would never go back to inkjet now

If you're happy to take out a bank loan for toners, thats fine.
Ive got a Dell 1320cn laser colour and it prints lovely.
You can get compat toners which makes all the diff.

Always learning from this site. will look into the dell, at the moment its £120 on ebuyer

Don't buy it, I did a few months back and this printer is rubbish! Very noisy, terrible paper tray design and much more. Be warned!

P.S. I took ours to the Tip and so did a friend!! Those providing Heat have probably never owned this printer.

I have used Samsung MONO printers for a while and always been happy with them.
Cartridge World do my refills.

However, just to throw another bone into the dog fight.
How about a free colour laser printer when you buy 2 sets of compatable toner cartridge's for £133.90??
NOT tried this deal, just pointing it out.

Just to be clear, Which printer are you refering too???

This is not a current model. Called 3 local Staples, all said that it had been replaced by CLP325, and that they had not had 315 for ages. Must have been a clearance model.

Not sure if the 325 is any good. £99 at lots of places, but can it be refilled/chipped?

If you can find the older model CLP-300 they are far cheaper to replace, (I only pay £2.99 for replacement toner cartridges).

is this picture taken in pc world?

I've got one of these - great printer no problems but they rip you off on cartidges £over £110 a full set. I bought a reset chip and I top the cartridges up myself, much better option

It's not a fault you plum it's a deliberate thing and something that almost EVERY inkjet printer uses these days let alone laser printers. You can buy stick on replacement chips for £5 each and then refill the toner carts for nuppence or you can chip the printer

Right you took a brand new printer to the dump?

BS alarm going mad here. There's nothing wrong with the printer, noise is low, paper tray is fine perhaps you were ham fisted with it

As for the Dell 1320n well they don't make Mac drivers for it unlike the Samsung if you're a Mac head worth remembering

hi

does that printer print on both sides of the paper? like in the offices.

I paid something like £80 for my mono HP Laserjet 1010 with 2000 page toner around 5 years ago and I'm still on my original toner cart (probably quite low by now though).

Tempted to buy this rather than buy a replacement toner cart at £30-£60.

refilltoner.com/ind…htm do refills and replacement chips although their site is not easy to navigate

Heat added.

According to the advert shown in the link i posted, it has manual duplexing.
This means that you have to put the 1st printed page back into the printer to print the 2nd page.
Bit fiddy if you need to do it frequently.

Strange....I have one of these and have not had to replace any chip with the toner??

Or are you talking about the official toners??

Personally I think it's a great printer, I have the 315-W so can print wirelessly. Toner is a bit expensive but last a long time!

Definitely recommended

The whole point of this thread is HOT DEALS. Like I already said, Staples don't sell this model any longer, as it is discontinued. The OP obviously saw one reduced to clear. They don't have them at other Staples.

Why all the arguing about something that can't be hot, as they're not available!

roof30

\Hey jerk, Samsung confirmed this as a fault to me via email!!

very good printer and really recommend this!

great printer for the money - replacement toner is a killer!

rather than buy replacement toner i bought the dell off ITJ and although its a little bigger, it prints better and they do cheap (and effective) replacement toner which means you dont have to throw the printer away when the ink runs out!

I'm after an all-in-one colour laser fax/printer/copier/scanner - any recommendations please?

thanks

Personally I have this: ijtdirect.co.uk/?sc…0cn

£130 for printer + 2 full sets of (remanufactured) toners. You can continue to buy remanufactured toners at £12 a pop (as opposed to £50 for "genuine" ones for the Samsung, since the Dell isn't chipped). I get on average 2500 pages from one of IJT's remanufactured toners.
